  • Patent number: 5895087
Abstract: A sun visor for vehicles has a sun visor body produced as a blow-molded body, which has a seating housing for a sun visor shaft as well as a counter-seating pin and a tub-shaped depression for receiving a complementary component. This sun visor has sidewalls in the tub-shaped depression with a circumferential seating flange formed by a step-shaped shoulder. Stiffening beads are exclusively disposed at the bottom of the tub-shaped depression and are supported on the interior wall of the adjoining broad side of the sun visor body. Holes for receiving fastening elements of a complementary component are provided in the bottom of the tub-shaped depression.

  • Patent number: 5893603
Abstract: A roof liner having a flexible lining material which extends both longitudinally and transversely across the vehicle. To enable the roof liner to be a sliding, folding liner, a plurality of bows extend across the lining material at spaced intervals from the front to the rear, uniformly spaced distances. Guide elements engage alternate pairs of bows providing a tension panel between the two bows engaged by the guide element and an untensioned panel between two guide elements. A respective guide rail at the side of the roof receives each of the guide elements for sliding therealong. The respective guide element receiving rails are stacked one above the other and parallel, enabling each guide to move over the full longitudinal length of its path.

  • Patent number: 5765896
Abstract: An outer support bracket for the shaft of a motor vehicle sun visor including a base fastenable to the vehicle body and a supplementary body hingedly connected to the base at an integral hinge. A respective clamping arm for the bearing shaft defined on each of the base and the supplementary body. A screw fastens the base to the vehicle. A tubular extension on the supplementary body extends into an insertion opening in the base defining the extent to which the first and second arms can move together. A pin upstanding in the insertion opening in the base body receives the fastening screw. A compression spring between the head of the screw and a stop on the tubular extension on the supplemental body biases the supplemental body into the opening in the base.

  • Patent number: 5755457
Abstract: An air bag unit is provided to protect a vehicle passenger from impacting a member of the interior of a vehicle. The air bag unit includes one or more air bags attached as an integral unit to a clamping device for attachment to a portion of the interior vehicle frame. Since the air bag is intended to protect passengers from impact with an interior member of the vehicle frame, the air bag is adapted to the shape of such member. The clamping device includes an attachment part which slidably engages the interior of the vehicle frame. In addition, the air bag unit is inflated by a tube housed therein. The tube exerts a restraining action on the inflating gas and includes one or more breakage locations which are intended to rupture within the air bag at a predetermined pressure for inflation of the air bag.
