Abstract: Systems and methods for color selection are provided. A web server stores a lookup table that associates room types and types of feelings with paint colors such that each possible combination of room type and type of feeling is associated with a subset of paint colors. A user device displays the room types, receives a room type selection indicating a particular room type, displays the types of feelings, receives a type of feeling selection indicating a particular type of feeling, accesses the lookup table and determines the associated subset of paint colors in the lookup table for the combination of the particular room type and the particular type of feeling, and displays the associated subset of paint colors as recommended paint colors for the combination of the particular room type and the particular type of feeling on the display of the user device.

Abstract: Systems and methods for color coordination for scanned products are provided. A kiosk has an input device, a display device, and an optical code reader. The kiosk has access to a product/color database. The kiosk is configured to receive an identification code scanned by the optical code reader, determine a flooring product associated with the identification code, determine at least one coordinating color for the flooring product based on the product/color database, display a simulated environment including a sample room having at least one selectable surface, display on the display device the at least one coordinating color, receive with the input device a selected color, receive with the input device a selected surface from the sample room, and display on the display device the simulated environment showing the sample room with the flooring product and with the selected color on the selected surface of the sample room.

Abstract: Systems and methods for determining a dominant color in a digital image are provided, including a computing device configured to analyze pixels in a first pixel group of a digital image based on a first sample rate, analyze pixels in a second pixel group of the digital image based on a second sample rate, and determine a dominant color for the digital image based on the analyzed pixels in the first pixel group and the analyzed pixels in the second pixel group. The pixels in the first pixel group are closer to a center of the digital image than the pixels in the second pixel group and the first sample rate is greater than the second sample rate.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided and include a server configured to provide an application to a remote computing device. The application displays a project image including a photo of a paintable structure and a hot spot located at a predefined location within the project image and configured to draw attention by at least one of blinking, pulsing, and enlarging. The application displays a first link and a second link in response to a cursor being controlled to touch or roll over the hot spot. The application displays at least one of a color name and a color number associated with a paint color at the predefined location of the hot spot in response to receiving input selecting the first link, and displays a color summary including a list of paint colors used in the project image in response to receiving input selecting the second link.

Abstract: Systems and methods for a color chip dispenser are provided and include an optical code reader, a robotic device configured to retrieve color chips from a color chip deck, and a controller. The controller is configured to receive input indicating a particular color chip, search the color chip deck for the particular color chip using the optical code reader, and receive a first selection indicating whether to display or dispense the particular color chip. The controller is also configured to receive a light type selection, control the robotic device to display the particular color chip in a display window associated with a type of light source indicated by the light type selection, receive a second selection indicating whether to dispense or return the particular color chip to the color chip deck, and control the robotic device to dispense or return the particular color chip based on the second selection.

Abstract: An adjustable truss structure is provided and includes a truss member with a first channel attached to the truss member, the first channel having a first slot, and a rail having a second slot with an anchor attached to the rail. The anchor has a member rotatable to a first position where the member is insertable into the first slot and rotatable to a second position to engage with a surface of the first channel, enabling the rail to be selectively moved relative to the first channel and locked into a fixed position relative to the first channel. The adjustable truss structure also includes a support member having a second channel, the second channel being hooked into the second slot and being slidable in the second slot.

The application is configured to display color sheen chips that represent a paint sheen on a display of the remote computing device and to receive input to control a cursor displayed on the display. The application is further configured to enlarge a particular color sheen chip on the display in response to the cursor being controlled to hover over the particular color sheen chip and to pivot the particular color sheen chip on the display about a central axis of the particular color sheen chip in response to the cursor being controlled to move back and forth over the particular color sheen chip to enhance displayed characteristics of the paint sheen associated with the particular color sheen chip.

The pair of supports is disposed between an opening defined by the first surface and the second surface. The tab channel is defined by a first tab surface and a second tab surface. The first tab surface includes a first locking portion and the second tab surface includes a second locking portion. A light-emitting diode (LED) array is slidably disposed on the pair of supports and a divider tab snaps into engagement with the tab channel. The divider tab is configured to illuminate in response to receiving light from the LED array.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed and include a light-emitting diode (LED) array with LEDs associated with respective paint color chip locations of a display assembly. A processor receives a first signal indicating first paint color chip locations and determines whether a second signal is received from a second device within a threshold time, the second signal indicating second paint color chip locations. The processor assigns a first lighting characteristic to the first device and a second lighting characteristic to the second device, identifies a first set of LEDs associated with the first paint color chip locations and a second set of LEDs associated with the second paint color chip locations, and transmits an activation signal to the LED control circuit to activate the first set of LEDs based on the first lighting characteristic and the second set of LEDs based on the second lighting characteristic.

Abstract: A method for a user to paint an image includes generating a display of a room image uploaded by the user. The method also includes employing a straight-line masking tool to block off a first area of the room image with a straight line such that color will not be applied to the first area when color is applied to a second area of the room image. The method also includes employing a polygon masking tool to draw at least three lines to mask off a selected polygon area of the room image such that color can be applied by the user to an inside of the selected polygon area when the user selects the inside of the selected polygon area and an outside of the selected polygon area when the user selects the outside of the selected polygon area.
