    Abstract: The present invention discloses a method for detecting a salient region of a stereoscopic image, comprising: step 1) calculating flow information of each pixel separately with respect to a left-eye view and a right-eye view of the stereoscopic image; step 2) matching the flow information, to obtain a parallax map; step 3) selecting one of the left-eye view and the right-eye view, dividing it into T non-overlapping square image blocks; step 4) calculating a parallax effect value for each of the image blocks of the parallax map; step 5) for each of the image blocks of the selected one of the left-eye view and the right-eye view, calculating a central bias feature value and a spatial dissimilarity value, and multiplying the three values, to obtain a saliency value of the image block; and step 6) obtaining a saliency gray scale map of the stereoscopic image from saliency values of the image blocks.

    Abstract: Implementations herein relate to a bistable piezoelectric cantilever vibration energy generator based on spherical composite structure with partial separation of different layers that includes a beam bracket and a shell. The shell is spherical, the bottom of the shell has a circular opening. The beam bracket and the shell are fixed to the base respectively. Vibration of the beam bracket can cause deformation of the piezoelectric cantilever beam, the piezoelectric cantilever beam generates electrical energy using the piezoelectric effect during deformation. The bistable piezoelectric cantilever vibration energy generator further includes twenty-five piezoelectric oscillator structures, and the lengths of the cantilever beam in the same layer are different such as to form a wide resonance frequency domain and to substantially increase power generation.

When the speed of a passing vehicle exceeds the speed limit, the piston-type speed bump structure apparatuses stay at moderately raised position to cause obvious and safe jolting motion to the vehicle. With the striking raised visual design and jolting motion on a driver, the present speed control device controls vehicle speed by means of control of the driver's behaviors.

    Abstract: Gas metal arc welding (GMAW) is a widely used process for joining metals. Its main advantage over its competition gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) is its high productivity in depositing metals. However, to melt metal from the wire to deposit into the work-piece, additional heat is consumed and applied to the work-piece with an uncontrolled fixed proportion to the effective heat that melts the wire. Such additional heat is often in excess of the needed heat input for the work-piece. The side-effects include a waste of the energy, an increased distortion, and possible materials property degradation. This invention is to device a method to transfer this part of heat to melt the wire by adding two wires, which form a pair of arc spots, under a tungsten arc. It also devices a method to assure the arc between the two wires be maintained stable such that the transfer be successfully continuous.

    Abstract: This invention relates to a method for preparing a polycarboxylate superplasticizer by graft copolymerization of fatty acid vinyl ester onto acrylate polymer. In this invention, a type of polycarboxylate superplasticizer by graft copolymerization of fatty acid vinyl ester onto acrylate polymer was synthesized by the processes of polymerization-grafting-alcoholysis-hydrolysis with acrylate and fatty acid vinyl ester as main reactants. In the first polymerization step, the polyacrylate was synthesized by using acrylate as monomer and a certain amount of initiator and molecular weight regulator. In the second graft copolymerization step, the graft polymer with polyacrylate as main chain and poly(fatty acid vinyl ester) as side chain was synthesized by graft copolymerization between polyacrylate and fatty acid vinyl ester. The final polycarboxylate superplasticizer product with polyacrylic acid as main chain and polyvinyl alcohol as side chain was obtained by subsequent alcoholysis and hydrolysis steps.

The inner cylinder includes two hollow cylinders with one end closed and the other end open. The damping material is installed between inner cylinder and outer cylinder. The damping splice sleeve can be used for the components' connections of precast building structures with vibration control requirements. When the load effects make the components have relative displacement, the damping material in the damping splice sleeve can have shear deformation and then dissipate energy.

An electromagnetic torque whose direction is opposite to the motor driving direction is generated in a magnetic field when a motor-drive armature winding is adopted based on the electro-magnetic induction principle.     Abstract: A sandwich structure for enhancement of photoluminescence (PL) from luminescent films and the corresponding preparation method are disclosed. The sandwich structure comprises a support, a luminescent film grown on the support, and a close-packed dielectric microsphere monolayer deposited onto the luminescent film. The microspheres have high transmittance excitation light and emitted light, respectively. The low price of dielectric microspheres is beneficial to industrial applications. The stable chemical properties of dielectric microspheres make PL enhanced in a long term. Both metal and non-metal materials can be used as the support in the sandwich structure. These features significantly improve the technique of PL enhancement for luminescent films.

    Abstract: The present disclosure provides polyimide fibers with kidney-shaped cross-section and their preparation methods thereof, falling within the technical field of polyimide fiber. Polyimide fibers with kidney-shaped cross-sections are prepared by a continuous, integrated approach, starting from a polyamic acid solution prepared by reacting an aromatic dianhydride with an aromatic diamine. PAA nascent fibers with kidney-shaped cross-sections are obtained by adopting a spinneret having circular orifices under wet spinning process. The kidney-shaped cross-sections are obtained by varying the processing condition, including spinning speed, coagulation bath composition, coagulation temperature, and depth of coagulation bath. After washing and drying, polyamic acid nascent fibers are converted to polyimide fibers with kidney-shaped cross-sections under thermal curing. The integrated preparation methods are suitable for mass industrial production.
