At least one embodiment of a method includes receiving a listing for a data provider, the listing including a plurality of criteria related to the data provider and receiving an indication to add at least a portion of the listing to a personal directory. Other embodiments include adding at least a portion of the listing to the personal directory and receiving an indication from the data provider to send data to the personal directory.

Abstract: Included are embodiments of a method for communicating data. One embodiment, among others includes receiving a request from a user to contact the at least one data provider associated with at least one listing stored in a user-defined directory and in response to receiving the request, facilitating activation of instant messaging logic, where the instant messaging logic is configured to refrain from displaying presence information associated with the user.

At least one embodiment of a method includes receiving a request to view at least one listing, the at least one listing including information related to a plurality of criteria. Other embodiments include providing a display that includes at least a portion of the information, the display further including a user option to store at least a portion of the information in a personal directory.

Abstract: Multiple access internet portals with wireless market place systems are provided. A representative system, among others, includes a wireless internet server and a wireless market place system. The wireless internet server routes internet content from a content provider to a plurality of platform gateways, while the wireless market place system receives a set of rules from a third party vendor, and translates the set of rules into a format operable to be routed by the wireless internet server. Methods and other systems for providing access to wireless customers are also provided.

Abstract: A system and a method for allocating bandwidth to ports in a computer network are provided. The method includes generating a default global parameter template having a first set of control parameters that indicate a first desired allocation of bandwidth for queues associated with each port of a plurality of ports in the network. The method further includes generating a first global parameter template having a second set of control parameters that indicate a second desired allocation of bandwidth for queues associated with a first subset of the plurality of ports.

Abstract: An automatic telephone service forwarding device including a base or enclosure defining a socket for receiving a wireless telephone. Upon detecting the presence of the wireless telephone in the socket, the device automatically forwards telephone service for the wireless telephone to a previously-stored forwarding directory number, typically the directory number of a wireline unit located nearby. Alternatively, the automatic telephone service forwarding device may be incorporated directly into a wireless telephone. In this case, the wireless telephone includes a “forward” button and a scrollable list of forwarding telephone numbers. The automatic telephone service forwarding device may also be configured to automatically select certain forwarding directory numbers from the list in accordance with a predefined time-based profile.

Abstract: Security is provided to a communication device configured to accept a physical key device. A public mode of operation is activated for the communication device when the physical key is not accepted by the personal communication device. The public mode of operation allows access to a first set of functions of the communication device, where the public mode of operation prohibits access to a second set of functions of the communication device. A personal mode of operation is activated for the communication device when the key is accepted by the personal communication device, where the personal mode of operation allows access to the first set of functions and the second set of functions of the communication device. A private mode may also be activated upon authentication of a user of the device, where the private mode allows access to a third set of functions. Other systems and methods are also provided.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer program products for implementing a locator service are provided. The method includes receiving, at a computer system, object identification information and location identification information from a vehicle. The location identification information indicates the presence of the vehicle at a parking space. The method also includes creating an occupancy record that includes the object identification information and the location identification information. The method further includes collecting fees from an operator of the vehicle during an exiting process based upon information in the occupancy record. The location identification information is received at the computer system via a radio frequency identifier associated with the parking space.

Abstract: Briefly described, one embodiment of the system, among others, includes a media server configured to transfer storefront interface data to a client device, where the storefront interface data enables a graphical storefront interface to be displayed on the client device. The system further includes a profile database maintaining profile records of users of the graphical storefront interface. At least one profile record comprises a profile for an administrator of an interactive management service, where the administrator authorizes other users to participate in the service including the first user. Further, the administrator sets parameters maintained in the profile database that limit which items are displayed to the first user and offered for sale by the media server to the first user. Also, payment for items purchased by the first user are charged to the administrator. Other systems and methods are also provided.

At least one embodiment of a method includes receiving a request to initiate a current browsing session and in response to receiving a request to initiate a current browsing session, retrieving data related to a previous browsing session, the previous browsing session being different than the current browsing session. Other embodiments include providing the retrieved data in the current browsing session such that the current browsing session is presented as a continuation of the previous browsing session.

At least one embodiment of a method includes receiving search results related to a first requested search and requesting access to at least one of the received results. Other embodiments include storing data related to the requested at least one result, receiving search results related to a second requested search, and determining whether at least one of the search results related to the second requested search matches at least a portion of the stored data related to the requested at least one result. Still other embodiments include displaying a subset of the search results related to the second requested search.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer program products for caller identification messaging are disclosed. A calling party uses a Caller ID Messaging Device that supplants the incoming calling line identification (ICLID) signal with a Caller ID Messaging Signal and transmits the Caller ID Messaging Signal to a destination communications address. An alternate embodiment provides that the calling party may use a conventional telephone to access a communications network, activate Caller ID Messaging Services, compose or retrieve a stored Caller ID Message of the Caller ID Messaging Signal, and transmit the Caller ID Messaging Signal to the destination communications address. The Caller ID Message and Caller ID Messaging Signal may include text, video, voice, and/or digital data.

Abstract: Systems and methods for generating a command to monitor communications in a asynchronous transfer mode network are described. In an embodiment of the present invention, an analyst or automated system creates a command to instruct a network element to mirror a port to another network element in communication with the asynchronous transfer mode network. In one embodiment, the analyst troubleshoots a communication link between two network elements by creating two port mirror commands, transmitting the commands to the network elements, and then monitoring subsequent communications between the elements.

Abstract: One embodiment of the present is a method of using location history to optimize communications with perspective customers. Such a method comprises analyzing a user's location history over a period of time; detecting an indication of user interest in sellable items based on at least the location history; and sending a message to the user about a sellable item that is determined to be of interest to the user. Abstract: One embodiment of the present is a method of implementing privacy control of location information. Such a method comprises defining a geographic zone for which pseudo-location information is to be reported as the current location of the user, wherein the pseudo-location information is not the current location of the user; receiving the current location of the user; determining that the current location is in the geographic zone; and reporting the pseudo-location information as the current location of the user when the current location is determined to be in the geographic zone. Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure provide systems and methods of location-based status checking. Such a method comprises scheduling an event to occur at a scheduled time at a defined location; inviting an individual to attend the event; querying the individual as to whether the individual will attend the event; and tracking a physical location of the individual to determine whether the individual is on schedule to appear at the event by the scheduled time. Other methods and systems are also provided.

Abstract: Methods according to the exemplary embodiments are used to set up call centers. For example, such methods can include the steps of determining call types to be handled by the call center and a number of call agents to be supported, identifying a list of software applications to be provided to the call center based, at least in part, on the determined call types and number of call agents, ordering hardware associated with an automatic call distributor and a plurality of agent terminals to be installed within the call center based, at least in part, on the determined call types and number of call agents, and installing the hardware and the software applications to set-up the call center.

Abstract: Methods, systems and computer program products provide an IP based device health check. The methods include initiating a health check to be performed at a customer location. The results of the health check are received and stored as an install state. A current state that was created in response to a diagnostic test executed at the customer location is received. The install state is compared to the current state to identify differences between the install state and the current state.

Abstract: A method for providing real-time individualized customer support simultaneously to a plurality of customers in a chat-room environment is disclosed. The method monitors the content of chats or conversations between service representatives and customers to automatically formulate product and service offerings and other services to customers in response to the chat content.
