Abstract: The present invention relates to methods for the treatment of hepatic disorders in a subject in need thereof. Abstract: Systems and methods for coherent splitting of a matter wave for supporting a variety of applications and fundamental studies in the fields of matter wave momentum splitting and interferometry. The systems and methods utilize pulsed field gradients and Rabi transitions between internal energy states. A matter wave is transformed into a superposition of spatially separated propagating wavepackets and spatial interference fringes with measurable phase repeatability were measured as a proof for the coherence of the splitting. A continuously tunable wide range of momentum difference between wavepackets may be received by controlling only the duration and strength of the pulsed gradients. Achieving high phase stability and various splitting schemes using different geometries, fields and energy levels, as well as various interferometric applications are disclosed.

Abstract: The invention is a system and method for obtaining interference and optical coherence tomography images from an object. The system comprises a wideband source, an optical mask for extending the depth of field, a a liquid crystal tunable filter and a phase modulator all of which are uniquely integrated in a Linnik interferometer microscope. The system has several imaging modes: in the time domain mode the device may operate either with wideband illumination or with quasi monochromatic illumination. The monochromatic illumination can be varied in wavelength along a wide spectral region thus allowing true spectroscopic imaging in high resolution and with high speed. Due to the liquid crystal tunable filter and the optical mask, the frequency domain mode is also accessible. The method of obtaining the optical coherence tomography images, both in the time and in the frequency domains, using the liquid crystal retarder is described in detail.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a system and method for providing 3D imaging. The system comprises: a) two or more cameras for allowing to generate stereoscopic information only for selected regions in a common or coincident field of view captured simultaneously by both of said two cameras, in order to provide distance measurements information to object(s) located in said selected regions; b) at least one 3DLR module for providing 3D image, wherein said two cameras and said 3DLR module are positioned in such a way that, at least partially, they will be able to capture similar or coincident field of view information; and c) a processing unit for generating said 3D imaging according to said stereoscopic information and said 3D image by using image processing algorithm(s) in order to provide 3D imaging information in real-time.
Abstract: A method for providing spectral and temporal stealthy information transmitted over an optical communication channel, according to which, at the transmitting side, the power spectral density of a pulse sequence bearing the information is reduced by encrypting the temporal phase of the pulse sequence. The power of the pulse sequence is spread in the frequency domain, to be below the noise level, by sampling the pulse sequence. Spectral phase encoding is used to temporally spread the pulse sequence and to prevent coherent addition of its spectral replicas in frequency domain. The resulting signal, encrypted both in time and frequency domains, is then transmitted. Spectral phase decoding is performed at the receiving side by performing coherent detection and folding all the spectral replicas of the transmitted signal to the baseband by means of sampling. The temporal phase of the signal is decrypted and the information which is delivered by the pulse sequence is decoded.
