Abstract: A system and method are disclosed herein for developing a machine perception model in the omnidirectional image domain. The system and method utilize the knowledge distillation process to transfer and adapt knowledge from the perspective projection image domain to the omnidirectional image domain. A teacher model is pre-trained to perform the machine perception task in the perspective projection image. A student model is trained by adapting the pre-existing knowledge of the teacher model from the perspective projection image domain to the omnidirectional image domain. By way of this training, the student model learns to perform the same machine perception task, except in the omnidirectional image domain, using limited or no suitably labeled training data in the omnidirectional image domain.

Abstract: Controlling a hydraulic drive for a hydraulic consumer alternately pressurized in opposite directions, the hydraulic drive comprising a hydraulic machine driven by an electric machine and featuring variable displacement adjustable through zero, wherein a rotational speed of the hydraulic machine controlled by the electric machine, includes varying displacement so that conveying direction of hydraulic fluid is alternated using a cyclically varying volumetric flow specification, to perform direction reversals. After direction reversal during a first change time period, the rotational speed is increased from a first rotational speed set at the end of the direction reversal to a second rotational speed, and within a second change time period after the first change time period, the rotational speed is decreased until the first rotational speed is reached.

Abstract: A method for determining a value of at least one controller variable for guiding a mobile platform in at least semiautomated fashion is proposed. Images of surroundings of the mobile platform are determined using a plurality of two-dimensionally representing sensor systems. A multiplicity of objects are identified in the images. At least two object features for each of the multiplicity of objects are determined in order to determine the at least one controller variable. An input tensor is generated using the in each case at least two determined object features of the multiplicity of objects for a trained neural network. Abstract: Methods and systems for identifying persons utilizing a camera and a wireless transceiver. The wireless transceiver receives wireless packets (e.g., Wi-Fi packets) from one or more mobile devices associated with one or more persons. The channel state information (CSI) is determined based on signals associated with the packets, and first motion characteristics are determined based on the CSI data. Congruently, the camera generates images, and associated image data is received, wherein the image data is associated with the one or more persons. Second motion characteristics are determined based on the image data. The first motion characteristics are matched with the second motion characteristics along with a quantified uncertainty, and the matched motion characteristics are assigned with weights that are based on the second motion characteristics (e.g., image-based). The one or more persons are identified based on the matched motion characteristics and the weights.

Abstract: In order to test a function in a pressure generating module of a hydraulic vehicle power brake system, it is provided to generate a brake pressure using a power brake pressure generator and subsequently hydraulically to separate a pressure regulating module from the pressure generating module by closing connection valves or hydraulically to separate wheel brakes from the pressure generating module by closing inlet valves, so that no brake fluid flows into the wheel brakes during the function test, which would reduce the brake pressure in the pressure generating module and negatively affect or prevent the function test.

The test routine uses at least one signal from at least one rate-of-rotation sensor as an input value. The method further includes rejecting the detected standstill of the vehicle when the at least one signal from the at least one rate-of-rotation sensor indicates that there is no standstill of the vehicle.

Abstract: Provided is a method for monitoring a change of ion strength in a sample solution by a closed-loop device that provides continuous cycling of electrochemical pH modulation between pre-defined pH values. In particular, the change of ion strength may be induced by a chemical reaction and may ultimately alter the electrical control parameters of the closed-loop device. By measuring such electrical control parameters, the degree and progress of the underlying chemical reaction may be monitored.
