Abstract: A computer-implemented method of calibrating a trained classification model. The trained classification model is trained to classify input samples according to a plurality of classes and to provide associated prediction probabilities, and includes a plurality of hidden layers and at least one activation layer. The method includes accessing the trained classification model and accessing a plurality of validation samples, each validation sample having a ground-truth label, the ground-truth label indicating a ground-truth class. The method further includes applying the trained classification model to the plurality of validation samples, obtaining, for each validation sample, an output logit vector from a layer of the trained classification model preceding a last activation layer, and training a calibration module. The calibration module is trained to adjust prediction probabilities, the prediction probabilities being derived from the output logit vectors.

Abstract: A sensor casing is disclosed that has an open receiving space which has a peripheral edge as a creep barrier at the open end. The receiving space is filled with a potting compound. The cured potting compound forms a concave surface with respect to the peripheral edge. A method for potting an open receiving space of a sensor casing of this kind is also disclosed. The peripheral edge has an outwardly declining slope which allows temporary overfilling of the receiving space during a potting process so as to form a stable convex potting compound surface.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method for managing cache utilization of at least a first processor when sharing a cache with a further processor. The method includes: executing, during a first regulation interval, a first application on a first processor, wherein the first application causes at least one block to be mapped from an external memory to a shared cache according to a cache utilization policy associated with the first application; monitoring a utilization of the shared cache by the first processor during the first regulation interval; comparing the utilization of the shared cache by the first processor to a cache utilization condition associated with the first processor; and adjusting the cache utilization policy associated with the first application, when the utilization of the shared cache by the first processor exceeds the cache utilization condition associated with the first processor.

Abstract: A controller that controls operation of the motorcycle, to which a surrounding environment detector is mounted, includes: an acquisition section that acquires information on the surrounding environment of the motorcycle on the basis of output of the surrounding environment detector during travel of the motorcycle; and an adaptive cruise operation performing section that makes the motorcycle perform adaptive cruise operation on the basis of the surrounding environment information acquired by the acquisition section. The acquisition section acquires other vehicle travel state information that is information on a travel state of an other vehicle acquired by a different vehicle from the motorcycle via wireless communication. The controller further includes a safety operation performing section that makes the motorcycle currently performing the adaptive cruise operation perform safety operation on the basis of the other vehicle travel state information acquired by the acquisition section.

Abstract: A method for detecting at least one linear object in an input image is disclosed. The input image, and/or an extract of the input image, is fed to an image classifier, which classifies specified regions of the input image or extract in each case at least into relevant regions, the center of which lies in fairly close proximity to the center point of at least one linear object passing at least partially through this region, and background regions where this is not the case. For the relevant regions, coordinates are acquired from a regression which indicate at least one local course of the linear object in the relevant regions. From these coordinates, the course of the linear object is evaluated in the entire input image.

Abstract: A method for diagnosing an exhaust component in an exhaust passage for an internal combustion engine of a vehicle. In the method, operating parameters of the internal combustion engine are monitored and recorded by a control unit while the internal combustion engine is running. If a predefined emission threshold for the exhaust component for compliance with emissions is found to have been exceeded, the current operating parameters of the internal combustion engine are stored in a control unit. The operating state of the internal combustion engine when the predefined emission threshold is exceeded is reproduced on a vehicle test bench using the stored operating parameters. The diagnosis of the exhaust component is carried out based on a comparison between the current measured value from the exhaust component and the current measured value from an emission measuring device and/or the predefined emission threshold.
Abstract: A method for detecting a lane for a driver assistance system. The method includes an arranging step in which a grid is arranged over a camera image from a vehicle camera, the camera image displaying a roadway. In a displaying step, a lane candidate is displayed using at least one parameter and/or a confidence value for the lane candidate when the at least one lane candidate is detected in at least one cell of the grid. In a filtering-out step, the lane candidate is filtered out when the confidence value of the lane candidate is below a defined confidence threshold. In a back-transforming step, the lane candidate is transformed back to a fixed number of keypoints per lane candidate when the confidence value of the lane candidate is above the confidence threshold, to obtain the lane. In a determining step, 3D coordinates for the lane are determined using the keypoints.
Abstract: A brake system for a motor vehicle. The brake system includes an autonomous emergency braking system to ascertain an object list using sensor data and continuously update the object list based on newly added sensor data, to ascertain a braking event based on the object list at a first point in time and to activate the actuating device to generate a hydraulic force if a braking event is ascertained, to recognize whether the braking event is still present based on the updated object list at a second point in time, after the first point in time; and to activate the hydraulic unit directly to reduce the hydraulic force applied to at least one wheel brake of the motor vehicle if the braking event is no longer present.

Abstract: A levelling laser for generating a laser projection line on a surface is disclosed. The levelling laser includes an optical projection lens with a three-dimensional lens surface. The projection lens can be described in a three-dimensional coordinates system having three axes, X, Y and Z, arranged orthogonally to one another. The Z-axis coincides with the optical axis of the projection lens. The lens surface of the projection lens has a shape with a surface inclination angle rising monotonically along the X-axis. Abstract: A method for ascertaining an initial pose of a vehicle using a control device. Measured data ascertained by a GNSS sensor system and/or an odometry sensor system are received and evaluated to ascertain an approximate pose of the vehicle with a margin of uncertainty. At least one trajectory of road users is extracted from a trajectory map for the ascertained margin of uncertainty. Test points are positioned along the extracted trajectory. An optimization algorithm is performed for each test point along the trajectory. The optimization algorithm ascertains poses having corresponding cost functions. A pose having the greatest cost function is determined as the initial pose of the vehicle from the poses ascertained by the optimization algorithm. A control device, a computer program, and a machine-readable storage medium are also provided.
