Publication number: 20110012377Abstract: A security seal includes a locking element and a locking body configured to receive an end of the locking element therein to secure the security seal at an object. The locking body may include a deformable wall that deforms responsive to a sufficient pressure applied to the wall of the locking body. A disk element may be disposed in the locking body and movable along a tapered channel to clamp against the locking element to limit retraction of the locking element. The tapered channel may have an arcuate surface along which the disk element moves to provide a progressively increasing bite angle and clamping force at the locking element. The disk element may have a knurled surface with a circumferential groove established circumferentially around the disk element, with the circumferential groove offset from a center line of the disk element and toward a respective end of the disk element.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 19, 2010Publication date: January 20, 2011Applicant: BRAMMALL, INC.Inventors: Barry B. Simes, Paul A. Littrell, Ni Zhen Rong, Richard C. Dreisbach, Robert F. Debrody, Carlos M. Pinho

Patent number: 7721407Abstract: A security device is described including a bolt and a securement washer through which the bolt is be disposed. The securement washer includes a hole, at least one circumferential groove within the hole, and a C-shaped ring disposed within the circumferential groove. The security device also includes a first end cap with a bolt head receiving well, a first end cap hole through which the shaft of the bolt is disposed, and a first end cap circumferential wall extending above the head of the bolt. The first end cap circumferential wall permits the first end cap to be closed around the head of the bolt. The security device also includes a second end cap with a securement washer receiving well and a second end cap circumferential wall extending above the securement washer. The second end cap circumferential wall permitting the second end cap to be closed around the securement washer.Type: GrantFiled: May 4, 2006Date of Patent: May 25, 2010Assignee: Brammall, Inc.Inventors: Paul A Littrell, Wanda K Beard, David L Gilbert

Publication number: 20080066359Abstract: A label and a label for a security seal are described. The label includes a flexible body with first and second portions connected to one another via a separable connection. A first adhesive is disposed on a rear surface of the first portion. A second adhesive is disposed on a rear surface of the second portion. First information is applied to the first portion. Second information is applied to the second portion. At least a portion of the first information is identical to a portion of the second information. Either the first portion or the second portion includes tamper-evident indicia such that attempted separation of either portion from a substrate, once affixed, exposes the tamper-evident indicia. The first adhesive is formulated to securely affix the first portion to a seal body. The second adhesive is formulated to securely affix the second portion to a document.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 14, 2006Publication date: March 20, 2008Applicant: Tyden Brammall Inc.Inventors: Paul A. Patent number: 6578886Abstract: A self-locking wire seal includes a body in which one end of a wire is fixedly secured. The free end of the wire can be inserted through the hasp of a lock. The free end of the wire is then inserted through a channel in the body of the seal. The wire contacts a locking mechanism which automatically prevents the retraction of the wire out of the channel defined in the body. The locking mechanism may comprise a spring which engages notches defined on the wire. The notches may be defined by using a concentrically laid spiral wound wire. The spring flexes out of the way of these notches when inserted, but grips the wire when attempts are made to retract the wire from the body of the seal.Type: GrantFiled: September 20, 1999Date of Patent: June 17, 2003Assignee: Brammall, Inc.Inventors: Jerry A. Patent number: 6457754Abstract: A cable lock includes a security insert to help prevent tampering with the internal components of the cable lock. The security insert may include a pair of side panels oriented generally parallel to each other and an end panel oriented generally perpendicular to the side panels. The security insert fits between an inner and outer member which are both made of relatively soft metal, such as aluminum or zinc casting. The security insert is made of a harder material, such as steel, which is resistant to drilling. The security insert surrounds a locking mechanism that may include a disc positioned on an angled incline.Type: GrantFiled: March 10, 2000Date of Patent: October 1, 2002Assignee: Brammall, Inc.Inventors: Jerry A. Patent number: 5760703Abstract: The remote controlled security device which can be controlled by a radiant energy transmitter so as to lock or unlock it, is mounted on the inside wall of a container and has a locking bar which is engageable with a locking plate that has an aligned opening for receiving locking bar of the security device. The locking bar can be moved by stepper motor from the locked to the unlocked position in response to actuation of the remote control transmitter to allow the door of the container to be locked or unlocked. There is also provided a key with an opening which can be inserted through the wall of the container to engage a projection which has the same shape as the opening in the key to allow the lock to be manually locked or unlocked.Type: GrantFiled: October 12, 1995Date of Patent: June 2, 1998Assignee: Brammall, Inc.Inventor: Alan Becker

Patent number: 5611583Abstract: An improved locking device which has a body member with a cable which has one end attached to the body member and a second end of the cable which can be inserted into the body member in a first direction but which cannot be withdrawn in a second direction. An improved spiral spring biases a disc that rides on a ramp into engagement with the second end of the cable so as to lock it so it cannot be withdrawn from the body member, the coil spring provides a simple and efficient biasing device.Type: GrantFiled: November 16, 1995Date of Patent: March 18, 1997Assignee: Brammall, Inc.Inventors: Jerry Bystry, Alan Becker

Patent number: 5352003Abstract: A cable locking and sealing device which has an attached cable and the free end of the cable can be passed through a member to lock it. Then the free end of the cable is passed down through an opening in the body of the locking and sealing device in which there is a spring biased conical-shaped member that carries a ball mounted in a transverse opening. The ball rides on an inclined conical surface and engages and locks the cable when an attempt is made to withdraw it from the locking device in a direction opposite to the inserted direction.Type: GrantFiled: October 5, 1993Date of Patent: October 4, 1994Assignee: Brammall, Inc.Inventor: Jerry A.
