Abstract: A fill valve assembly for a toilet tank including a vertical standpipe, a pilot valve assembly located at the top end of the standpipe, and a vertically movable float which is connected to the pilot valve assembly. The pilot valve assembly opens the valve assembly when the float moves vertically downward and closes the valve assembly when the float moves vertically upward.
Abstract: A fluid conducting connector for use in water connections particularly water heater connectors. The connector assembly is designed for mating connection to a galvanized nipple for reduction of galvanic corrosion between dissimilar metal connections. An insulator assembly is seated within the connector to maintain separation between the galvanized nipple and the copper tube of the assembly. The connector assembly includes an internally threaded female connector mounted to the copper tube for connection to the nipple. The insulator assembly includes a tubular sleeve and a sealing washer. The sleeve extends partially into the copper tube while the washer seats within the female connector to seal the connector.
Abstract: A shower head having a water inlet passage or providing a supply of water to the shower head and a plurality of nozzles for expelling water from the shower head. The flow of water from the water inlet passage to the nozzles is controlled by a pressure actuated toggle valve mechanism. The valve mechanism is in communication with a rotatable faceplate used to control both the water flow and the texture of the shower spray. The faceplate is rotatably adjustable over a plurality of discrete positions to vary the spray between a coarse and fine shower spray.
Abstract: A flexible hose connector for delivering a fluid from a source to an end user or appliance. The hose connector generally includes a flexible hose body and end connectors. The hose body includes an interior tube having an inner fluid passageway and an outer reinforcing braided sheath. The braided sheath is formed of plastic coated strands of stainless steel for improved resistance to both corrosion and cutting of the sheath.
Abstract: A toilet tank fill assembly incorporating a standpipe which is adjustable along a plurality of discrete positions to adjust the height of the fill valve within the tank. The standpipe includes a fixed tube which is secured to the inlet port of the tank and an adjustable tube matingly attached to the fixed tube and carrying the fill valve at an upper end. The fixed tube has a plurality of peripheral camming grooves which represent the discrete positions of adjustment. The adjustable tube includes a slot receiving a locking clip designed to engage the grooves of the fixed tube to selectively prevent telescoping adjustment of the tubes. Rotation of the adjustable tube removes the clip from the groove allowing adjustment of the standpipe length.
Abstract: A fill valve for controlling the filling of a fluid reservoir such as a cistern. The valve minimizes the time needed to fill the reservoir by maintaining maximum fluid flow through the valve until instantaneous shut off of the fill valve once the reservoir is filled. The fill valve includes a reciprocating valve head carried on a valve stem connected to a float arm for determining the fluid level within the reservoir. The valve head is disposed within an enclosure having grooves for conducting fluid flow past the valve head to create a back pressure behind the valve head. The valve stem seals a passageway through the valve head which operates as a pilot valve during opening and closing of the valve.
