Abstract: An electric motor of a hair dryer has a stamped metal carrier serving for the preassembly of a diode bridge circuit and brushes and springs for the electric motor. The carrier, together with its preassembled components, can be mounted in an end shield of the electric motor, which end shield is provided, with suitable clearance spaces for this purpose. The entire assembly can then be easily slipped onto the commutator of the electric motor provided in the hair dryer housing.

Abstract: The invention is directed to a switching power supply with a primary switched-mode direct-current converter, in which the conductivity of a transistor (2) driving the base of a switching transistor (1) is operated on by the sum of two control signals. The sum of these control signals is generated by two low-resistance voltage sources in series arrangement, the sources being proportional to the emitter current and the input voltage, respectively.

Abstract: The invention is directed to a discharge indicating means for a storage battery (B) in which a choke (L) and a first transistor (T1) are connected to the storage battery via a switching device (S). The base of a second transistor (T2) arranged between the base of the first transistor (T1) and reference potential is controlled such that the circuit arrangement will start oscillating and an indicating device connected in parallel with the first transistor (T1) will light when the battery voltage (UB) has dropped below a predetermined threshold.

Abstract: An electric coffee maker has an electric flow-through brewing water heater with a heating resistor controlled by a temperature dependent regulating switch responsive to the temperature of the heating resistor, and a warming plate heated by the heating resistor for maintaining the prepared coffee at a desired drinking temperature. Apparatus for adjustably prolonging the interruption of heating current 2 to 5 times the normal cooling time of the regulating switch is connected in circuit with the heating resistor and the regulating switch, and a manually actuated small quantity control means connects the heating current interruption prolonging apparatus in circuit with the heating resistor and the regulating switch. The prolonging apparatus may be an adjustable auxiliary electric heater in parallel with the regulating switch and thermally coupled thereto or an adjustable timer in series with the heating resistor and regulation switch and triggered by the opening of the regulating switch.

Abstract: A cordless portable hand held hair dressing appliance has a housing provided with a pistol-grip handle and containing a battery operated electric fan arranged to draw air into the housing through an air inlet for flow through a heat structure to be heated prior to discharge from a housing air outlet. The heater structure includes air elongated heat accumulator member of high specific heat penetrated in the longitudinal direction by a plurality of air ducts each having an intake communicating with the housing inlet and an outlet communicating with a mixing chamber connected to the housing outlet. The heat accumulator member is formed of a ceramic, e.g., Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 and MgO, and is adapted to be heated to store heat therein by an electrical heating conductor structure formed by a layer of electrical resistance material on the wall of each duct.

The curved leading edges of the blades 10, 11 form the cutting edges 14, 15. The cutting edges 14, 15 of the blades 10, 11 are of different curvatures.

Abstract: The rotary electrical switch 1 which is mounted on a circuit plate 7 furnished with a printed circuit comprises a switch wheel 4 which is rotatably supported on the circuit plate 7 and whereat a contact bridge 48 is inserted into a pocket 46. On rotation of the rotary switch 1, said contact bridge 48 connects and/or disconnects at least two conducting paths of the printed circuit. Shaped at the switch wheel 4 is a pivot pin 17 which penetrates the circuit plate 7 and which is secured by a base member 5 to the circuit plate 7 on the said's bottom side opposite to the printed circuit. An air stream enters the flow channel through an air inlet opening and cools the outer walls of the housing by convection as it passes through the meander-shaped flow channel and emerges through an air outlet opening into the toast wall. The meander-shaped flow channel includes reversing curve portions located in top and bottom areas of the meander-shaped flow channel structure such that the air stream flows in an upward direction in one portion and in a downward direction in another portion of the meander-shaped flow channel.
