Provided in parallel with the series connection comprising the storage battery (61) and the diode (31) are a capacitor (12) and a further diode (32) connected in series, with a switching arrangement (71) provided in parallel with the capacitor (12) being connected via a decoupling arrangement to the base of a second transistor (2) determining the turn-on period of the first transistor (1).

Abstract: A fabric pressing device has a composite sole plate with a base component of metal or similar thermally conductive material that is coupled to the heat source of the pressing iron, and a layer of ceramic bonded to the base component. The ceramic layer has a planar fabric pressing surface that preferably has a smoothness of at least about a nominal two micrometers surface roughness. That ceramic surface is highly resistant to wear and to impact, is easy to clean, and has excellent dynamic and static frictional characteristics on textile fabrics.

Hair roller holding means comprises a body of ferromagnetic material carried by the hair roller adjacent the smaller end of the conical chamber and a magnet, the body of ferromagentic material being movable into the holding range of the magnet when the hair roller is placed on the heating spindle to hold the conical surfaces of the chamber of the hair roller and the heating spindle in mating engagement.

Abstract: The invention relates to a jet tip on the handle of an oral hygiene appliance. The jet of the jet tip has an opening in which a slidable core piece is displaceable, which core piece exposes only the output openings for a multiple stream in one of its two extreme positions in the jet and only a single output opening for a single stream in its other extreme position. Advantageously, when the core piece moves from one extreme position to the other, contaminants or calcium deposits are automatically and mechanically removed from the outlet opening or outlet openings which is or are not exposed. The core piece can be positively mounted in the jet and be movable by pressure or tension force exerted by a spring and be thereby automatically locked into its two extreme positions.

Abstract: An alarm device especially suitable for alarm clocks or timers is described, whose alarm signal can either be interrupted for a certain period of time or shut off by an acoustic signal, for example that formed by the human voice. As a result of its low power consumption, the alarm device according to the invention can also be used in battery-powered devices; when installed in an alarm clock or timer, inexpensive mass production is also made possible by using already existing integrated circuits. The alarm device according to the invention is functional even when the acoustic signal produced by the user is only of very short duration or when the alarm signal is delivered as a continuous tone. Advantageously, the alarm device can also be so designed that it delivers an alarm signal at least for a short time when someone is speaking when the alarm signal is triggered and other noises with frequencies outside the frequency range of fundamental tone of the human voice interrupt or shut off the alarm signal.

The lower component of the iron is formed by a thin flat metallic ironing plate detachably connected to the duct of the dryer in spaced confronting relationship to the open end thereof. The ironing plate is planar and has a surface facing the open duct end to define a direct hot-air impingement surface region and extends laterally outwardly from the direct hot-air impingement region beyond the contour of the duct end for providing a region heated by hot air laterally deflected in all directions from the hot-air impingement region. The hot air impingement region is provided with holes for direct access of hot air to the material being ironed, with the holes being located in a group having a shape corresponding to the contour of the open duct end.
