Abstract: A method and an apparatus for performing a localization of a movable treatment device having an inertial sensor and configured to treat a target surface. A motion pattern recognition device discriminates between two or more motion patterns contained in a set of motion patterns. An interface provides at least one inertial sensor data from the inertial sensor to the motion pattern recognition device. At least one inertial sensor data represents a movement of the movable treatment device. A neural network is configured to receive the at least one inertial sensor data and to map the at least one inertial sensor data to at least one motion pattern contained in the set of motion patterns associated with one or more different zones of the target surface so that the mapping of the at least one inertial sensor data with the at least one motion pattern indicates an estimation of the location of the device with respect to at least one zone of the target surface.
Abstract: An apparatus for classifying the motion of a movable treatment device having at least one inertial sensor, a motion pattern classification device configured to discriminate between two or more motion classes contained in a set of motion classes of the movable treatment device, and an interface for providing inertial sensor data from the inertial sensor to the motion pattern classification device. The inertial sensor data represents a movement of the movable treatment device, wherein the motion pattern classification device comprises at least one neural network configured to receive and classify the inertial sensor data with respect to the motion classes contained, each associated with at least one class member selected based on the motion of the movable treatment device.
Abstract: An oral care device attachment for being coupled to a drive shaft of an oral care device handle, the attachment including: an outer attachment tube having a coupling end that is intended for being secured at the oral care device handle; a carrier mounted for driven motion at the outer attachment tube; a motion transmitter disposed inside of the outer attachment tube; where a spring is arranged that the motion transmitter is biased into a position towards the coupling end of the outer attachment tube.
Abstract: A system for classifying the usage of a handheld consumer device having a sensor and an analyzer. The sensor determines usage data at successive time instants and provides a temporally successive sequence of usage data during a usage session. The analyzer classifies the usage of the device with respect to at least one set usage classes and assembles a temporally successive sequence of input tuples of usage data relating to a predetermined time period of the usage session, each of the input tuples having at least one element representing the usage data at the respective time instant and for inputting the sequence of input tuples into at least one artificial neural network arranged to output at least one output tuple comprising a number of elements in accordance with the number of usage classes, each element of the output tuple representing a prediction value that the usage of the consumer device at the given time instant relates to a respective usage class.
Abstract: The present invention relates to cutter system for an electric shaver and/or trimmer, including a pair of cooperating cutting elements, with a first cutting element and a second cutting element, a motor driving the second cutting element in a movement direction, a support structure supporting the pair of cooperating cutting elements, where a stacked sandwich arrangement is provided by the second cutting element being sandwiched between the first cutting element and the support structure.

Abstract: A handle for an oral-care implement for safe and hygienic use by multiple users includes an electrical motor and a detachable head. The handle has a display for displaying instructions to control functional operation of the handle, a microcontroller for controlling the motor and the display, and at least one switch to allow a user to control the functional operation of the handle, including causing the output element to vibrate in at least one oral-hygiene mode having an oral-hygiene frequency and causing the output element to vibrate in a disinfection mode when the handle is being disinfected before or after being used for the oral-hygiene routine. The disinfection mode has a modulated frequency, different from the oral-hygiene frequency, and alternating up and down between a low modulated frequency and a high modulated frequency, wherein the high modulated frequency is at least 50 percent greater than the low modulated frequency.

Abstract: A toothbrush head or a brush carrier having at least one carrier element including at least one shape-shifting tuft mounted thereon. The shape-shifting tuft raises from a mounting end on a mounting surface of the carrier element generally along an extension direction towards a free end of the shape-shifting tuft. The shape-shifting tuft has a length from the mounting base to the free end and comprises a plurality of fibers.
