Abstract: A gateway having at least one communications interface and processing circuitry establishes communications with at least one service provider device and at least one serviced client device. The gateway then determines that a serviced client device is to establish an Internet browsing session. Based upon characteristics of the serviced client device, the gateway determines where to instantiate a web browser to service the Internet browsing session. Based upon the determination, in a first operation, instantiates the web browser to service the Internet browsing session at the gateway or client device. In a second operation, the gateway instantiates the web browser to service the Internet browsing session at a service provider server. In other operations, the gateway may determine to instantiate a browser for a first client device at a cloud server and to instantiate a browser for a second client device either locally or at the second client device.

  • Patent number: 9590701
Abstract: A first near field communication (NFC) device or a first NFC-enabled device utilizes a feedback based approach to allow for dynamic adjusting of one or more operating characteristics. The feedback based approach can be a direct feedback based approach or an indirect feedback based approach. In the direct feedback based approach, a second NFC device or a second NFC-enabled device can communicate information to the first NFC device or the first NFC-enabled device to cause the first NFC device or the first NFC-enabled device to dynamically adjust the one or more operating characteristics. In the indirect feedback based approach, the first NFC device or the first NFC-enabled device can dynamically adjust the one or more operating characteristics in response to the non-occurrence of an event, such as receiving a response command from the second NFC device or the second NFC-enabled device to provide an example.

  • Patent number: 9591042
Abstract: A mobile device of a user discovers topological information about electronic devices in a premise environment, and shares such information with a media gateway. The media gateway uses the topological information to augment content from a server, such as a web page that supports access to media content, to add graphical objects corresponding to those electronic devices in proximity to the mobile device that are capable of reproducing the streaming media content. Selection of the one of the add-on graphical objects causes delivery of the media content to the corresponding electronic device instead of the display of the mobile device. In this manner, a more natural selection mechanism than that available using conventional pull-down lists of options is provided.

  • Publication number: 20170063489
Abstract: A communication device receives a transmitted signal from another communication device. This transmitted signal is generated within the another communication device based on predetermined digital data. The communication device then generates a first reference signal based on a copy of the predetermined digital data and subtracts the first reference signal from the transmitted signal to generate a first residual signal. The communication device then identifies at least one adaptation parameter based on the first residual signal and adapts the first reference signal using the at least one adaptation parameter to generate a second reference signal so that a first characteristic of the transmitted signal and a second characteristic of the second reference signal are approximately equal.

  • Patent number: 9583581
Abstract: An integrated circuit is described as having one or more contact regions to provide one or more interconnections between one or more transistors of the integrated circuit and another integrated circuit. The one or more contact regions represent a self-aligned contact (SAC) whose positioning is determined through one or more patterning processes of a semiconductor fabrication process. The one or more contact regions include one or more contact discontinuities to allow the integrated circuit to accommodate for a wide range of the manufacturing variations and/or the misalignment tolerances by preventing the one or more contact regions from physically contacting other regions, such as gate regions to provide an example, of the one or more transistors. As such, the one or more contact discontinuities have a dynamic size, such as a dynamic area to provide an example, which is dependent upon the manufacturing variations and/or the misalignment tolerances.

  • Patent number: 9584187
Abstract: Systems and methods according to aspects of the subject technology provide non-interruptive filtering of transmission line communications. The non-interruptive filtering may physically isolate, in the frequency domain, independent networks that share a common transmission media, such as mains wires that are used to deliver both alternating current (AC) power and power line communication signals. The isolation provided by the non-interruptive filtering prevents the transmissions from the independent networks from interfering with each other. In one or more implementations, the non-interruptive filtering may be provided by one or more filters that include cores, such as ferrite cores, around which two mains wires, e.g. a mains live wire and a mains neutral wire, can be wound in opposite directions, respectively. Currents traveling on the mains wires through the filter in opposite phases cancel each other out, thereby blocking symmetric power line transmissions, while allowing AC power to pass through.

  • Patent number: 9585027
Abstract: Methods and systems for enhanced 2-wire and 3-wire WLAN Bluetooth coexistence solution may include determining whether adaptive frequency hopping is active in a Bluetooth communication device. If the adaptive frequency hopping is active, handshaking with a collocated non-Bluetooth communication device may be disabled. The collocated non-Bluetooth communication device may be a wireless local area network communication device. If the adaptive frequency hopping is inactive, handshaking with the collocated non-Bluetooth communication device may be enabled. If the adaptive frequency hopping is inactive, the Bluetooth communication device may initiate handshaking prior to transmitting data. If the adaptive frequency hopping is inactive, the Bluetooth communication device may also respond to the handshaking initiated by the collocated non-Bluetooth communication device. The handshaking may be executed via a 2-wire Bluetooth/WLAN coexistence interface or a 3-wire Bluetooth/WLAN coexistence interface.

  • Patent number: 9584426
Abstract: A system forwards congestion management messages to a source host updating the source address in the management message. The system may determine that the congestion management message was triggered responsive to an initial communication that was previously forwarded by the system. The system may use header translation within a single addressing scheme and/or may translate the congestion management message into a different type to support forwarding to the source of the initial communication. The system may use portions of the payload of the congestion management message to determine the source of the initial communication and to derive a different header for the translated congestion management message.

  • Patent number: 9578595
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus for parallel scanning of channels in communication networks are described herein. A parallel scanning device performs a scanning operation that includes parallel (i.e., simultaneous) scanning of channels that are in a common frequency band or in different frequency bands. The parallel scanning of channels results in a reduction of scan time, which reduces power consumption. Furthermore, a scanning operation may undesirably interrupt and/or delay normal communication traffic to and from the parallel scanning device, and the comparatively shorter scan time resulting from the parallel scanning operation can reduce such interruption and/or delay.

  • Patent number: 9577662
Abstract: A CT-SDADC of the present disclosure converts the analog input signal from a representation in an analog signal domain to a representation in a digital signal domain to provide the digital output signal. The CT-SDADC achieves the analog-to-digital conversion and ELDC by switching between two phases in the SAR sub-ADC: a sampling phase and a conversion phase. During the sampling phase, the SAR sub-ADC captures the analog input signal across multiple arrays of switchable capacitors. The conversion phase comprises a number of steps, and one or more bits of the digital output signal are resolved at each step of the conversion phase. A portion of the SC-DAC is driven by the delayed CT-SDADC output during the conversion phase to effectively compensate for excess loop delay caused by the CT-SDADC feedback loop.
