Abstract: A vehicle network link module includes network fabric ports, a port, a switching circuit, and a link manager. The network fabric ports are operable for coupling to corresponding network fabric ports of another vehicle network fabric link module. The port is operable for coupling to a port of a vehicle network module. The switching circuit is operable to connect an active network fabric port to the port. The link manager determines whether vehicle network packet conveyance via the active network fabric port has degenerated below a threshold. When the vehicle network packet conveyance has degenerated below a threshold, the link manager determines use mode of the active network fabric port. The link manager processing module then selects a new active network fabric port based on the use mode. The link manager then activates the new active network fabric port for coupling via the switching circuit to the port.

Abstract: A system, method, and apparatus for decoding a bitstream are presented herein. Symbols in the bitstream are replaced with intermediate symbols by a preprocessor. In a video decoder, a video decompression engine is used to provide decoded frames at a constant rate. However, the frames are encoded as pictures with widely varying amounts of data in a bitstream. A preprocessor replaces symbols with intermediate symbols providing the same information in a different format. The intermediate symbols are preferably simpler for decoding.
Abstract: A semiconductor device includes a memory storing a lookup table including stored values associated with modes of operation of a component of the semiconductor device. A monitor monitors an operating parameter of the component in real-time, and reports a calculated value associated with the same. A power manager determines a change in the mode of operation of the component based on a comparison of the calculated value with a corresponding stored value, and adjusts a current mode of operation of the component in real-time.
Abstract: Aspects of a method and system for an OFDM joint timing and frequency tracking system may include tracking carrier frequency and symbol timing in an Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) signal based on at least a reference symbol set. A receiver frequency and timing may be adjusted based on the tracked carrier frequency and symbol timing. The carrier frequency may be tracked by generating an output signal as a function of a frequency offset ?f, and the symbol timing may be tracked by generating an output signal as a function of a guard time ?tg. The received OFDM signal may be fast Fourier transformed to generate the reference symbol (RS) set. The receiver frequency and timing may be adjusted coarsely prior to fine adjustment. The coarse receiver frequency and the timing adjustment may be based on processing a primary synchronization signal and a secondary synchronization signal.
Abstract: A method for generating a preamble of a frame for a wide-bandwidth channel wireless communication begins by generating a legacy carrier detect field. The method continues by generating a channel sounding field, wherein the channel sounding field includes a plurality of tones within the wide-bandwidth channel, wherein a first set of the plurality of tones corresponds to tones of a legacy channel sounding field. The method continues by generating a legacy signal field, wherein, in time, the legacy signal field follows the channel sounding field, which follows the legacy carrier detect field.

Abstract: Methods and systems for a touchscreen interface utilizing leaky wave antennas (LWAs) are disclosed and may include configuring one or more leaky wave antennas utilizing conductive traces in the touchscreen interface for communication of wireless RF signals. RF signals may be communicated utilizing the configured LWAs. A resonant frequency of the LWAs may be configured utilizing micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) deflection. The LWAs may be configured to communicate the RF signals in a desired direction. The LWAs may comprise microstrip or coplanar waveguides, where a cavity height of the one or more leaky wave antennas is dependent on spacing between conductive lines in the waveguides. The touch control commands by the touchscreen interface may be sensed utilizing capacitance, inductance, and/or resistance measurements.
Abstract: A method, apparatus and computer program product are provided in order to provide measurement reports on a more timely basis. Additionally, the method, apparatus and computer program product may provide measurement reports without first having initiated a cell reselection process. As such, the network entity, such as a radio network controller (RNC), may provide increased control in regards to the mobility procedure, such as cell redirection or handover, based at least in part upon the measurement result. From the perspective of a mobile terminal, one method includes receiving instructions to perform a cell update procedure based upon a new measurement. In response to obtaining the new measurement, the method also includes causing the cell update procedure to be triggered. In this regard, the cell update procedure includes provision of a cell update message that includes measurement results.

Abstract: Physical layer device auto-adjustment based on power over Ethernet (PoE) magnetic heating. In one embodiment, information generated by a PoE module that is indicative of the PoE operation over the network cable (e.g., level of current, heating, etc.) is made available to the physical layer device (PHY). This information enables the PHY to infer a change in the level of inductance on the line. In response, the PHY can then adjust a characteristic of transmission by the PHY.

Abstract: A system and method for enabling energy efficient Ethernet networks with time-sensitive protocols. Time-stamped packets generated by a time-sensitive protocol rely on fixed latency in a transit time through a transmission subsystem. An energy efficiency control policy in a network device governs a transmission of time-stamped packets in accordance with energy efficiency initiatives controlled by the energy efficiency control policy. In one embodiment, time-stamped packets can be dropped or modified to account for transitions by the transmission subsystem into an energy saving state. In another embodiment, transitions by the transmission subsystem into or out of an energy saving state can be impacted by the existence of time-stamped packets scheduled for transmission.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatuses are provided for detecting, quantifying, and compensating for non-linear characteristics of audio signals. External audio devices are detected when coupled to electronic or communication devices. Tuning operations are initiated upon detection of external audio devices to estimate non-linear parameters imparted to audio signals by the external audio devices.
