  • Patent number: 7568745
Abstract: A striker driving assembly for a motor vehicle lock that includes a striker carrier, a striker located on the striker carrier, two cams and a driving means. The striker carrier and the striker can be moved linearly by means of the cams from a pre-locking position into a main locking position. The driving means is controlled by a control which is located in the motor vehicle or on the driving assembly. The driving means also has a motor and gearing, where the cams are driven by the motor, and the application of force by the two cams to the striker carrier takes place on opposite sides of a linear axis of movement of the striker so as to move the striker carrier and striker along the linear axis of movement.

  • Patent number: 7568740
Abstract: Motor vehicle lock with a ratchet, latch, actuation lever, internal actuation chain, external actuation chain and a control, the ratchet having an engagement position in which it holds the latch in the closed position, and a raised position in which the latch is released, the ratchet being movable from the engagement position into the raised position by the actuating lever, the control having different operating states and depending on the state, the ratchet is actuatable via the actuation lever by the internal actuation chain from an inside door handle and/or by the external actuation chain from an outside door handle or not at all. In the base state, the internal actuation chain and the external actuation chain are coupled to the actuation lever and the internal actuation chain and/or the external actuation chain can be decoupled from the actuation lever by the control depending on the operating state.

  • Publication number: 20090145182
Abstract: An auxiliary locking drive for a motor vehicle lock having its own drive housing and being located separate from the vehicle lock in the installed state. The auxiliary locking drive can be coupled to the vehicle lock by way of a transmission that transmits a linear driving motion produced by a drive motor to the vehicle lock for transferring the vehicle lock from the half-locked state into the main locked state by the driving motion. The auxiliary locking drive, for producing the linear driving motion, has a feed gear mechanism which is connected downstream of the drive motor and is made as a spindle-spindle nut gearing with a spindle and a spindle nut.

  • Publication number: 20080295408
Abstract: The invention pertains to a method of motorized movement of a vehicle door, wherein the vehicle door can be moved from an open position to a closed position as part of a closing process, wherein a door drive mechanism associated with the vehicle door and a control system are provided, wherein the vehicle door can be moved in the direction of closing starting from the open position using the door drive mechanism. It is proposed that in a first section of the closing process the vehicle door is moved by the door drive mechanism from the open position to a comfortable open position that lies between the open position and the closed position, and that in a second section of the closing process, the vehicle door is further moved from the comfortable open position in the direction of closing, preferably to the closed position, manually by the user and largely free of the door drive mechanism.

  • Patent number: 7452013
Abstract: The present invention relates to a motor vehicle lock having a lock catch and a locking pawl. The lock catch may be brought into an opening position, a main locking position and a preliminary locking position. The locking pawl can be brought into a lowered and raised position. The locking pawl may be arranged to hold and release the lock catch in a direction of its opening position. A memory element is assigned to the locking pawl and arranged to keep the locking pawl in the raised position. The memory element may operate with a control apparatus. The locking pawl may be releasable by motor from the raised position and may further be moveable in a direction of its lowered position unhindered by the memory element. The release by motor of the locking pawl is controllable at a predetermined triggering time by the control apparatus.

  • Patent number: 7416229
Abstract: A motor vehicle lock with a latch and a ratchet, the latch being movable out of a fully latched position into a release position and vice versa, and the ratchet being movable out of an engagement position which keeps the latch in the fully latched position into a raised position which releases the latch, and optionally, into an overtravel position and vice versa. To achieve reliable opening, a forced opening mechanism is provide which is actuated by the movement of the ratchet or of the drive which moves the ratchet, and the ratchet or the drive causes the forced opening mechanism to positively engages the latch or an element which is dynamically connected to the latch so as to forcibly move the latch toward the release position.

  • Patent number: 7384080
Abstract: A motor vehicle lock with a blocking element (2), with a electrical opening drive (3) for the blocking element (2), with control electronics (8) in the motor vehicle lock or separately from it in the motor vehicle, by which individual functions of the motor vehicle lock can be electrically triggered, and a lock mechanism by which individual functions can also be mechanically triggered. The opening drive (3) has a drive element (6) which can be driven in two opposing directions of motion, movement of the drive element in the first direction of motion releases or open the blocking element (2) and movement in the second direction of motion turns on (or off) the second function of the motor vehicle lock. The lock has an especially simple structure since turning off the second function takes place without moving the opening drive (3) in the second direction of motion exclusively by electrical control.

  • Publication number: 20080018283
Abstract: A drive arrangement for the motorized movement of a functional element in a motor vehicle. An electric drive motor moves the functional element in two directions via a first drive train and a second drive train. The drive force is transmitted simultaneously via the two drive trains in at least one of the two directions of movement of the functional element. One of the two drive trains comprises cable-operated speed transforming transmission with a drive cable which is used to transmit drive force while the other of the two drive trains is a cableless drive train. A differential with two outputs can optionally be connected downstream from the drive motor with the drive trains then extending from the outputs of the differential.

  • Patent number: 7311330
Abstract: A motor vehicle safety mechanism has a component which can be displaced out of a rest position suddenly into an action position by release of a holding device. Such a motor vehicle safety mechanism is, for example, a head support/roll bar which extends automatically in an accident. The holding device has a latch which fixes the component in the rest position and a ratchet arrangement which holds the latch in the action or engagement position. The ratchet arrangement has ratchet kinematics and an adjustable blocking element. By moving the latch out of the engagement position into the direction of the release position, the ratchet kinematics are moved and the blocking element blocks the movement of the ratchet kinematics.
