Abstract: A motor vehicle lock with a latch, a ratchet, an optional preliminary catch and a closing aid, the closing aid having an auxiliary closing drive with a pivoting driving element and an auxiliary closing lever which is pivotably coupled to the driving element. The latch can be moved by means of the auxiliary closing drive via the driving element and via the auxiliary closing lever into the fully latched position—closing process—and for this purpose, the auxiliary closing lever can be coupled to the latch. The driving element can be caused to engage the auxiliary closing lever such that the cycle of movements of the driving element, after the latch moves into the fully latched position, causes decoupling of the auxiliary closing lever from the latch.

  • Publication number: 20050284201
Abstract: A motor vehicle component with a drive having a motor, a gearing and a component which is movable by the drive, the motor being coupled to a driving side of the gearing and a driven side of the gearing being coupled to the movable component, a kinematic chain of the gearing between the driving side and the driven side having at least two transmission elements. The drive is operable in blocking operation by a displaceable blocking element that is movable into blocking engagement with the drive. The displaceable blocking element is in addition to the drive and the adjustable component, and is engaged in a controlling manner with the first transmission element of the kinematic chain so that, depending on the position of a first transmission element, it can be moved into blocking engagement with a second transmission element of the kinematic chain.

  • Publication number: 20050218670
Abstract: A striker driving assembly for a motor vehicle lock, with a striker carrier (2), a striker (3) and a drive mechanism (4), the striker (3) being arranged optionally detachably on the striker carrier (2), and the striker carrier (2) and with it the striker (3) can be moved from the pre-latching position into the main latching position and vice versa, the drive mechanism having a link (5), a cam (6) which engages the link (5), and a drive (7) which drives the cam (6). Displacement of the striker carrier (2) from the pre-latching position into the main latching position takes place as the cam is displaced in the link (5). Abstract: Motor vehicle lock, with a latch with a main catch and optionally a preliminary catch and with a ratchet with a catch projection which engages with the latch at the main catch and optionally the preliminary catch, and segments of the latch and of the ratchet which engage one another being made of metal, and otherwise being jacketed with a plastic material or made of a plastic material. Noise development is reduced by the plastic material of the latch and the ratchet being widened into a buffer plane next to the engagement plane and the plastic material of the latch and the ratchet being arranged and shaped in the buffer plane such that, except for the engagement of the catch projection on the main catch, and optionally the preliminary catch of the latch, noise-relevant contact of the latch and the ratchet takes place only in the buffer plane.

  • Publication number: 20050151379
Abstract: A striker driving assembly for a motor vehicle lock that includes a striker carrier, a striker located on the striker carrier, two cams and a driving means. The striker carrier and the striker can be moved linearly by means of the cams from a pre-locking position into a main locking position. The driving means is controlled by a control which is located in the motor vehicle or on the driving assembly. The driving means also has a motor and gearing, where the cams are driven by the motor, and the application of force by the two cams to the striker carrier takes place symmetrically to the axis of movement of the striker.

  • Publication number: 20050146146
Abstract: A holding device for a motor vehicle safety with a component which can be displaced out of a rest position suddenly into an action position, with a holding element. Such a motor vehicle safety means is, for example, a head support/roll bar which extends automatically in an accident. The holding device has a latch which fixes the component in the rest position and a ratchet arrangement which holds the latch in the engagement position. The ratchet arrangement has ratchet kinematics and an adjustable blocking element. By moving the latch out of the engagement position into the direction of the release position, the ratchet kinematics are moved and the blocking element blocks the movement of the ratchet kinematics which can be caused by the latch.

  • Publication number: 20050146215
Abstract: A motor vehicle lock with an electrically openable motor vehicle lock and a child safety is proposed. A very simple and economical structure is enabled in that the opening mechanism, which can be manually actuated from the inside, can be blocked exclusively by manual actuation and the child safety can be overridden and re-enabled electrically without mechanical mechanisms. Here, a version is especially interesting in which the electrically operating child safety is temporarily deactivated (overridden) so that then, during the time interval of deactivation, the motor vehicle can be electrically opened in spite of a manually activated child safety.

  • Publication number: 20050001437
Abstract: The present invention relates to a motor vehicle door lock and more specifically, to a sensor for detecting the current locking state of a motor vehicle door lock. The motor vehicle door lock of the present invention includes lock elements which further include a latch and a ratchet. The latch and the ratchet are each able to be moved into a main catch position. The latch is able to be locked in the main catch position by the ratchet. The door lock also includes a sensor for monitoring a current locking state, wherein the latch and the ratchet are coupled to the sensor such that reaching the main catch position by the latch only together with reaching the main catch position by the ratchet causes triggering of the sensor. The door lock also includes a mechanical actuating element which can be moved out of a starting position associated to the sensor, wherein both the latch and the ratchet are coupled to the actuating element to act on the actuating element.
