  • Patent number: 12569904
Abstract: A method for determining the thickness of a material strip (5) when feeding the material strip (5) to the processing zone of a machine tool (1). The material strip (5) is clamped between two rotatable rollers (3, 4), whose relative position to each other in the original state with clean rollers and “zero” roller spacing was detected (reference relative position) and whose relative position to each other in the intended feed operation is determined for each feed interval (current relative position). The difference between the current relative position and the reference relative position, which gives the thickness of the strip material (5) when the rollers are clean in their original state, is corrected according to the invention for any changes in diameter of the rollers (3, 4) that may have occurred, for example, due to contamination.

  • Patent number: 12447522
Abstract: A method for operating a servo motor (10) driven turning station (5, 6, 7) of a stacking tool for a punch press includes the following steps: determining a target turning acceleration curve of the turning station (5, 6, 7) in the acceleration phase (A) of the turning increment (D); carrying out a reference acceleration run of the turning station (5, 6, 7); determining during the reference acceleration run the reference angular velocity (?ref) of the turning station (5, 6, 7); determining from the target turning acceleration curve the target angular velocity (?soll); calculating a target drive torque of the servo motor, at which the target angular velocity (?soll) results, from the relationship, known from the reference acceleration run; and accelerating the turning station (5, 6, 7) with the servo motor (10) in the acceleration phase (A).

  • Patent number: 12296552
Abstract: The invention relates to a punch press with a crank or eccentric drive, including a crank or eccentric shaft (1a, 1b) and active connecting rods (9a, 9b) for generating the stroke movement of the press ram (13). Furthermore, the punch press includes balancing weights (2a, 2b) for balancing the vertical and horizontal mass forces and is designed in such a way that the horizontal drive movements required for the horizontal mass balancing are tapped directly at the crank or eccentric shaft (1a, 1b), preferably laterally at the crank or eccentric shaft (1a, 1b).

  • Patent number: 11976702
Abstract: The invention relates to a spring-damper element (2) for mounting a punching press (1), with a hydraulic damper unit (3) with a first fluid chamber (4) and a second fluid chamber (5), wherein, in the intended operation, a hydraulic fluid is displaced from the first fluid chamber (4) via a throttle point (6) into the second fluid chamber (5) when the spring-damper element (2) is compressed. The damper unit further comprises an overload valve (7) arranged between the first fluid chamber (4) and the second fluid chamber (5), which overload valve opens when a specific fluid pressure is reached in the first fluid chamber (4) or when a specific pressure difference is reached between the first fluid chamber (4) and the second fluid chamber (5) and releases a bypass (8) via which hydraulic fluid then flows from the first fluid chamber (4) into the second fluid chamber (5) bypassing the throttle point (6).

  • Publication number: 20160136710
Abstract: A method for warping the machine bed of a punching press, which machine bed has an aperture for carrying away punching parts and rubbish, compensates at least partially for a bending of the machine bed caused by the punching force during the punching operation. Thereby, forces acting transverse to the punching direction are introduced into the machine bed and/or forces acting transverse to the punching force direction are produced inside the machine bed, by means of which the machine bed warps in the direction towards the press ram and indeed such that it warps stronger in the area adjacent to the aperture than in the areas adjacent to its longitudinal sides. By the method, apertured machine beds of punching presses can, with very little expenses on the equipment side, be spatially pre-deformed in order to compensate at least partially bendings caused by punching forces.

  • Patent number: 8739595
Abstract: The invention relates to a punching press with a clamping plate (27) and with a press ram (1) which lies opposite the upper side of the clamping plate (27) and operates towards the clamping plate (27) and is moveable up and down via four tension columns (2) by means of a crank drive arranged below the belt movement plane (X) of the punching press. The press ram (1) is guided exclusively via the tension columns (2) which, in turn, are guided in inclination-tolerant guides (3) in the belt movement plane (X) in such a manner that the press ram (1) and the tension columns (2) can be positioned obliquely as a consequence of differing longitudinal expansion of the tension columns (2) under an eccentric load by the tension columns (2) being inclined about axes of inclination running in the region of the belt movement plane (X) of the punching press.

  • Patent number: 7637138
Abstract: The invention concerns a multistage press, at which within the machine-mounted clamping plate (1), an insert (3) is arranged which can alternatingly be moved in the direction towards the press plunger (2) and away from it. The insert (3) is moved up and down by a cam drive actuated by the press main drive with lifting and lowering cams (5), whose cam tracks (8a, 8b) are traced by lifting rollers (6) and lowering rollers (7) under compressive prestress. Such a multistage press can be operated with a high number of strokes per minute and has, at the same time, an excellent precision of the stroke movement.

  • Patent number: 7374073
Abstract: A feed apparatus for intermittently feeding band-shaped material to a press has two feed rollers for advancing the material. An upper feed roller is bearing-mounted in a rocker for swivel-movement with a pivot bearing on a unidirectionally hydraulic cylinder into a high-lifted position enabling introduction of the material between the rollers. For lowering of the upper roller, the cylinder is rendered pressureless and a press spring pressed onto the material between the rollers. In this position, the pivot bearing can be fixed for automatically adjusting the feed apparatus to the thickness of the material.

  • Patent number: 7111766
Abstract: The elongate rocker is forked at its first end and includes two fork tines. These are designed symmetrically relative to the longitudinal plane of symmetry of the rocker. A control rod with a longitudinal center axis is pivotally mounted at its bottom end to the second end of the rocker. A spiral pressing spring with a longitudinal center axis acts onto the rocker. The upper feeding roller is designed symmetrically to a plane extending perpendicularly relative to its longitudinal center axis. The longitudinal center axis of the control rod defines together with the longitudinal center axis of the pressing spring a geometrical plane. This plane coincides with the longitudinal plane of symmetry of the rocker, which in turn coincides with the geometrical plane which extends perpendicularly to the longitudinal center axis.

Abstract: The feeding apparatus is driven intermittently by a electric servomotor with a drive shaft. The upper feeding roller is held clamped in a bipartite upper shaft assembly between a shaft portion located adjacent the electric servomotor and a shaft portion located remote from the electric servomotor. The lower feeding roller is held clamped in a bipartite lower shaft assembly between a shaft portion located adjacent the electric servomotor and a shaft portion remote from the electric servomotor. The upper shaft assembly is supported in a rocker. The transmission of the driving force from the electric servomotor to the upper shaft assembly proceeds via a Oldham-type coupling. The transmission of the driving force from the upper shaft assembly to the lower shaft assembly proceeds via spur gear wheels. The connection between the drive shaft of the electric servomotor and the upper shaft assembly is accomplished by a multi-part clamping sleeve device.
