  • Patent number: 5527107
Abstract: The new invention is directed to a continuous mixing and homogenizing plant, particularly for mill products. In so doing, the simultaneity of the mixing of all raw components in a pre-mixing space 8 is ensured in particular, so that subsequent continuous homogenization is also possible so as to meet the strictest demands. The utilized component weigher 4 and the assigned screw discharge 25 are constructed so as to be substantially tubular and together form a differential flow regulator 6. The inner surface of the entire system contacted by the product is accordingly tubular and is subjected to a continuous self-cleaning as a result of the movement of the product. Further, it is possible to arrange a plurality of component weighers 4 in a geometrically identical manner with respect to a collecting point 17 and a very high quality of mixing is obtained.

  • Patent number: 5517905
Abstract: The invention concerns a novel process and a device for stabilizing the shape of both long and short pasta. A small amount of water, e.g. 0.4% to 12%, is added to the surface of the product while it is still hot in a water addition member (27) at the end of the drying or climate zone (9) and the product is then cooled in a cooling arrangement (29). The pasta are then stacked in the traditional manner for stabilizing insofar as this is required for the subsequent packaging process. In this way, subsequent cracking which was previously often unexplained can be avoided even when very extreme drying climates and short drying periods are used.

  • Patent number: 5466894
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for the automatic filling of shipping bags with bulk materials with weighing accuracy. The pre-defined bulk material filling quantities are produced cyclically by controlling the discharge from a differential packer and weigher by determining the differential weight and are poured directly into the package via a flow filling sleeve. The pre-defined bulk material weight is directly packed as a dense stream on the shortest path via a flow filling sleeve. The majority of problems relating to weighing technology can be shifted to the area of the refilling of the differential weigher container with no disadvantageous results and no longer occur during the formation of the filling weight. The highest hourly outputs can be achieved particularly for packing carousels.

  • Patent number: 5425959
Abstract: In a process and apparatus for pressing and drying long pasta, an alternative to hanging is provided wherein the dough strands are first introduced into a drying climate immediately after the goods are discharged from the die. The dough strands are guided directly into the drying means from the extrusion die as long "strings" in a continuous manner and are then cut to packaging length. It is possible for only the initial drying to be operated in this way, particularly to heat up the goods and, e.g., hang them on rods while hot, and then to carry out the final drying in a manner known per se, e.g. by portions. The goods can be dried intensively at previously unaccustomed temperatures of 90.degree. C. to 120.degree. C., particularly during final drying, to a moisture content of 15% to less than 13%.

  • Patent number: 5415884
Abstract: The novel invention proposes a novel dough kneading process and a corresponding apparatus, wherein the dough is produced in a small lump structure in a rapidly revolving centrifugal kneader. A very high percentage of granulate sizes corresponding to the size of the desired final product can be produced directly with the new process in particular for further processing of the small lumps to form couscous. The individual small lumps have a complete protein structure when leaving the whirl kneader. For large throughput capacities, the whirl kneader is constructed as a double-rotor kneader. It is important that the minimum kneading time does not fall below at least 5 to 10 seconds and it would be more advantageous not to exceed a maximum kneading time of 2 to 3 minutes.

  • Patent number: 5368239
Abstract: In an apparatus for producing milled grain products by means of repeated roll grinding and sifting of specific product fractions, the material to be milled is at least partially guided via double-grinding passes without intermediate sifting. An eight-roll mill is used for this purpose, which eight-roll mill is constructed as a double unit with two roll pairs arranged at a distance one above the other and can be used in quantity in a grain milling system or also in combination with single-grinding passes constructed as four-roll mills. Compared with the use of known four-roll mills, the economic efficiency of a mill is accordingly improved while completely retaining the adaptability of the mill to specific grinding tasks, the quality of the material to be milled and/or the ability to monitor the grinding process.

  • Patent number: 5364651
Abstract: The inventive method and apparatus suggests guiding the pasta directly into a drying climate after exiting from the die. Pasta strands of short goods are fed directly into the drying device from the extrusion die. The pasta strands can be cut either directly at the extrusion die or subsequently into packaging lengths after drying by means of an additional cutting device. It is possible to operate only the initial drying in this way, particularly to heat up the goods and then to carry out the final drying in a manner known per se, e.g. by portions. However, it is also possible to carry out the drying in its entirety, i.e. the pre-drying and final drying, according to the invention, particularly for short goods. The goods can be intensively dried at previously unaccustomed temperatures of 90.degree. C. to 120.degree. C., particularly during final drying from 15% to less than 13% product moisture.

  • Patent number: 5301816
Abstract: A new separating method and a corresponding apparatus and the use of the apparatus for the environmentally sound separation of different material mixtures, are disclosed wherein, in addition to dynamic forces, the area pressure between the bodies to be sorted and an inwardly elastic sorting drum are made of use. Bodies which are heavy with respect to specific area pressure sink into the interior of the drum and are thrown out at a lower location. Parts which are light with respect to specific area pressure, on the other hand, are rejected from the surface of the drum and guided away separately. In so doing, the device achieves very efficient separation. The invention is particularly effective for the separation of reclaimable material mixtures, so-called "recyclables", particularly with respect to fractions such as liftings which are otherwise difficult to separate.
