Abstract: Plastic window and doors are effectively latched to surrounding plastic frames by a distributed series of latches that are carried on a common carrier for simultaneous shifting between latched and unlatched conditions from a single point. A series of latch pins mates with an opposing series of cammed apertures that engage the pins when relatively shifted by a single turn of one actuator.
Abstract: A flush bolt mechanism for use in connection with a pair of swingable doors to provide latch bolt engagement between the free ends of those doors. The flush bolt mechanism includes a generally flat frame or plate adapted to be mounted on a flat frame or plate adapted to be mounted flush on one of the free ends of the swingable doors, and a support bracket mounted on the back thereof. The support bracket provides a means for mounting an adjustment bracket thereon in reciprocal position thereon. A trigger mechanism is also mounted in reciprocal position on the support bracket so as to extend through the flush mounted plate. The trigger mechanism and the adjustment bracket are mounted on the flat plate and the support bracket to be reciprocally moved toward the plate and away from the plate in continuous adjustment to provide for adjusting the extended position of the trigger means mounted on the adjustment bracket.

Abstract: A push-pull door latch mechanism for latching/unlatching a retractable latch bolt of a latch bolt assembly. The latch mechanism includes a pair of handles, one on either side of a door, each handle having an engagement portion configured to engage a pin on a corresponding first and second rotatable cam. Each cam is provided with a latch bolt assembly engaging portion operably connected to the latch bolt assembly. The first cam further has a locking shoulder configured for selective engagement with a first lock member. A lock coupling operably connects the first lock member with a second lock member such that rotational movement of one of the first and second lock members causes rotational movement of the other of the first and second lock members. A lock knob provided on the interior side of the door is operably connected to the first lock member and facilitates toggling of the first and second lock members between the locked and unlocked positions.
Abstract: A door holder and stop which utilizes an elongated arm and track to retain the door in a closed position. The arm, through the use of a plate, is attached to a door frame. Pivotally and slidably connected to the arm is the track, having a return end and a closure end. The track is fixably attached to a door. At one end, the track has a locking mechanism for retaining the door in a closed position.

Abstract: The present invention is a compact door coordinator which includes a relatively narrow housing having mounted therein and extending therefrom a lead control lever and a longer trailing control lever. Both control levers are spring biased to extend from the housing when the doors are open. A relatively simple linkage extends from the lead control lever to the trailing control lever for retaining the ladder in its extended position until the lead door contacts the lead control lever. At that point, the lead control lever is pushed into the housing and rotated against the force of a torsion spring, causing the linkage to move and thereby rotating a cam which then releases the trailing control lever allowing the trailing door to push the trailing control lever into the housing to complete the closing process.
Abstract: A push/pull door latch is disclosed with pivotal handles, both having a foot portion for operating respective eccentric portions of a crank-shaped actuator to retract a latch bolt, the handles also having stop portions for contacting portions of a base member to define a range of motion of the handles.

Abstract: Method and apparatus for mounting a push/pull handle on a latch mechanism is disclosed. Recently, it has become desirable for large medical service facilities, such as hospitals, to change their door latch mechanisms from rotatable lever handles to push/pull handles. The apparatus comprises a pair of mating adapter plates mountable on either side of a door outwardly adjacent a mortise lock presently mounted in the door. The adapter plates include a plurality of pairs of aligned apertures, each of the several pairs of which are adapted to align with a pair of apertures which differing lock manufacturers position in differing radial and arcuate positions with respect to a mortise operating key. The adapter plates fasten through the mortise to the respective door sides and allow push/pull type handle assemblies to be mounted on the adapter plates so as to be operatively connected through the mortise operating key.

Abstract: A door holder/stop for attachment between a door and a door frame has an elongate first and second arms attached with one end of the first arm overlapping a portion of the second arm to provide a single adjustable length arm. To join the ends of the first and second arms to each other in overlapping relationship, one of the elongate arms has a transverse hole near the second end thereof and a longitudinal slot extending through a portion of the length with one end of the slot positioned a short distance from the transverse hole. The other of the elongate arms has a plurality of threaded holes spaced along the length thereof. A first threaded screw is passed through the transverse hole of the one arm and into one of the threaded holes of the other arm, and a second threaded screw is passed through the slot of the one arm and into a second threaded hole in the other arm.
