Abstract: A first information processing apparatus receives file information from a second information processing apparatus when the second information processing apparatus is switched to a power saving state. When the first information processing apparatus receives a file information acquisition request, which is directed to the second information processing apparatus from another apparatus, the file information that has been received from the second information processing apparatus is sent to the other apparatus. The first information processing apparatus acquires by proxy a file that is to be stored in the second information processing apparatus and sends the file acquired by proxy to the second information processing apparatus when the second information processing apparatus is restored to the normal power state.

Abstract: Whether all pages have the same print settings is determined before print settings are changed in a print preview, and the setting change is permitted only when all pages have the same print settings. In each layer of XPS data to be processed, whether the print setting information is not added to the element of the layer or whether the print setting information added to the element of the layer is shared by all elements of the layer is determined. A change in the print setting information by the user is accepted if one of the conditions is satisfied. When the print settings are changed, the setting change is not reflected on individual print tickets. The change is reflected on the entire job by adding a print ticket reflected with the setting change on the top element.

  • Publication number: 20100149369
Abstract: An image capturing apparatus chooses a main face from among faces detected in successively captured images based on a degree of priority calculated for each detected face. Moreover, the image capturing apparatus compares the degree of priority assigned to the face corresponding to a last chosen main face and the degrees of priority assigned to the faces corresponding to faces other than the main face, and then counts the number of times the degrees of priority assigned to the faces corresponding to faces other than the main face exceed the degree of priority assigned to the face corresponding to the main face. When one of the number of times counted for the faces other than the main face exceeds a preset threshold value, the image capturing apparatus performs a main face changeover to the one of the faces.

  • Publication number: 20100153586
Abstract: The invention provides a peripheral control device for allowing the user to select preferentially a setting of a peripheral device through a wired port. A setup utility searches a port of a printer installed onto a computer to search a pertinent printer. If the pertinent printer is found during the above searching, the peripheral control device acquires MAC address information through that port. When as a result of the searching, the pertinent printer having the same MAC address is found through a different port, the peripheral control device presents a wired port of the above-mentioned pertinent printer as a candidate in a settable port list. When changing a setting of a wireless LAN printer, the utility communicates with the printer through each printer port installed at the time of activating the setup utility, not via wireless LAN.
