Abstract: An IV product transport device is configured to transport an IV product from one location to another in automated fashion. The transport device may comprise a chassis with one or more ports for IV products. A drive mechanism is configured to move the transport device. In one embodiment, the transport device includes a controller. Information may be provided to the controller about an IV product, such as its intended destination or use. The controller may also exchange information with a delivery device, such as an infusion pump, to verify that the IV product is delivered to the proper destination. The transport device may include a delivery mechanism for off-loading an IV product. The transport device may deliver IV products of various configurations, including one in which the product comprises a flexible bag and a container housing for supporting and protecting the fluid bag.
Abstract: A peer network may include nodes corresponding to different clinicians. An edge may interconnect the two nodes based on the corresponding clinicians sharing at least one common attribute such as for example, treating the same patients and/or interacting with the same medical devices. A machine-learning model may be applied to identify, in the peer network, one or more peer communities of clinicians. The activity pattern of a clinician may be compared to the activity patterns of other clinicians in the same peer community to determine whether that clinician exhibits anomalous behavior. An investigative workflow may be triggered when the clinician is determined to exhibit anomalous behavior. The investigative workflow may include generating an alert, activating surveillance devices, and/or isolating medication accessed by the clinician.
Abstract: A medical system includes a medical device and a display for displaying a plurality of visual elements. The plurality of visual elements are associated with functions of the medical device. The medical system also includes a plurality of visual profiles for facilitating in controlling visual appearance of the plurality of visual elements displayed on the display, and a visual profile selector for selecting at least one of the plurality of visual profiles based on a state of the medical device.
Abstract: Centralized systems execute one or more applications for monitoring and operating a plurality of network enabled medical devices. An indication to start a selected application at the centralized system or at a network enabled medical device is received at the centralized system/network enabled medical device. The selected application may require a license to operate and, at the time the indication is received, may have a first license available. Instead of using the first license, the centralized system/network enabled medical device may determine to inherit at least a portion of a second license to operate the selected application. The centralized system/network enabled medical device may inherit at least the portion of the second license to form an inherited license, where the inherited license enables features of the selected application. Using the inherited license, the selected application is started with the enabled features. Related apparatus, systems, techniques and articles are also described.

Abstract: A system for providing aggregated patient data may include a processor and memory. The processor may receive clinical data items from a healthcare data system and device data items from healthcare devices, where the clinical data items and the device data items are associated with patients. The processor may generate patient data objects corresponding to the patients, where each patient data object includes the clinical data items and the device data items associated with one of the patients. The processor may filter the patient data objects based on access privileges of a third party organization to generate filtered patient data objects and transform the filtered patient data objects based on a data transformation rule associated with the third party organization to generate transformed patient data objects. The processor may provide, e.g. over a network, the transformed patient data objects to at least one device associated with the third party organization.
Abstract: A method, system and computer-readable medium are provided for determining compliance with patient care protocols, comprising an infusion pump providing infusion information pertaining to one or more drugs administered to a patient, the one or more drugs including sedatives and analgesics, and a processor communicably coupled to the infusion pump and configured to determine information regarding the one or more drugs being administered to the patient based on the infusion information by determining a baseline threshold for the one or more drugs being administered to the patient according to the actual dosage of the one or more drugs administered to the patient prior to a current time, determining a dosage amount of the one or more drugs currently being administered to the patient and comparing the dosage amount of the one or more drugs currently being administered to the baseline threshold to determine a deviation from the baseline threshold.

Abstract: Methods for managing preparation, delivery, and recycling of a medication for a patient are provided. In one aspect, a method includes interfacing with a medication preparation component, an inventory management component, a delivery management component, and a medication recycling management component. The medication preparation component fulfills a plurality of medication orders based on a first set of parameters. The medication preparation component cannot interface directly with the parameters for the other components. The method includes providing the medication preparation component the first set of parameters based on the parameters for the other components. In another aspect, a method includes receiving a plurality of medication orders, providing preparation instructions when a medication order cannot be fulfilled by unused medications, providing delivery instructions for the medications, and receiving delivery verifications. Machine-readable media are also provided.

Abstract: A system and method for managing inventory in a dispensing cabinet includes a mobile terminal, and an association station configured to associate the mobile terminal with an item type stored in the dispensing cabinet. The association station receives, from the mobile terminal, an indication of a respective item unit of the first item type being moved, determines an access status of one or more containers of the dispensing cabinet when the indication is received, determines a container location for the item unit based on the access status of the containers and receiving the indication of the respective item being moved from the first mobile terminal, and causes, responsive to determining the container location, a supply record associated with the item type and a first container of the dispensing cabinet to be updated to reflect a change to a first amount of the first item type stored in the first container.
Abstract: A system and method for creating a menu for an adapted a medical workflow implemented at a computer coupled to a hospital network is disclosed. The disclosed system and method generates a workflow including a list of predicted medical action options based on an identified healthcare worker and based on a determined operating state or vital state of a patient, creates a menu for displaying the list of predicted medical action options, disables one or more of the predicted medical action options in the menu based on the determined one or more state values associated with an identified medical object, and communicates for display on a graphic interface the menu comprising the disabled one or more predicted medical action options, wherein the disabled one or more predicted medical action options is visible in the menu but unselectable by the healthcare worker.

Abstract: An infusion system authorizes changes to operating parameters for a patient by any one of a plurality of caregivers that can be identified as being in a predetermined physical space. Individuals are detected within the space based on detecting signals from respective wireless transmitters associated with the plurality of individuals. Performance of an operation being initiated at the infusion system is authorized based on the identification of the individuals. An association between the operation and the one or more individuals detected within the physical space at a time of the operation is automatically recorded, without requiring a logon of the one or more individuals to the system.
