  • Publication number: 20130258404
Abstract: The present invention allows desired printing to be easily achieved not with complex operation but with intuitive operation. In the present invention, short-range communications can be made between a portable terminal device and a copy machine. When the portable terminal device is placed on a placement table of the copy machine, the copy machine detects the placement state of the portable terminal device (for example, landscape orientation or portrait orientation), determines a print format (for example, printing in a vertical direction or a horizontal direction as a printing direction) according to this placement state, and performs printing of print data received from the portable terminal device according to the print format.

  • Patent number: 8542254
Abstract: A graph arbitrarily input by the user is displayed on a dot-matrix display screen. When an instruction to determine any one of the characteristic points, such as intersections, local maxima, or local minima, is given, an characteristic point to be determined is calculated and the result is pointed by pointer P and, at the same time, the coordinates (X, Y) of the characteristic point are displayed. Depending on whether there is one other graph which overlaps or makes contact with the characteristic point of the graph and displayed dots of the graph near the characteristic point, it is determined whether a locus of the graph near the characteristic point is displayed unclearly. If the condition for unclear display has been satisfied, the graph including the characteristic point is enlarged repeatedly at the enlargement factor set by the user until the condition for unclear display is not fulfilled.

  • Patent number: 8542305
Abstract: A control unit controls brightness of a liquid crystal display unit such that the brightness becomes darker as a distance between an electronic view finder and an operator measured by a distance measuring sensor becomes shorter. With this structure, even if the operator takes his or her eye off from the electronic view finder, the liquid crystal display unit is not switched from an OFF state to an ON state. Therefore, it is possible to prevent the brightness of the liquid crystal display unit from becoming burdensome to an operator when the eye of the operator approaches the electronic view finder.

  • Patent number: 8531559
Abstract: An imaging apparatus includes an image sensor, a shutter, a memory, a temperature acquisition unit, a determination unit, and an acquisition controller. The image sensor includes an effective pixel region and an optical black region. The memory temporarily stores photoelectric-converted image data after the shutter is opened. The temperature acquisition unit acquires an ambient temperature when the temperature is determined to be equal to or more than a threshold value when the image data is stored in the memory. The acquisition controller makes control for shutting the shutter and for acquiring photoelectric-converted image data at that time when the temperature is equal to or more than the threshold value. The writing unit cuts out image data of the effective pixel region from the acquired image data. Difference in optical black level is corrected using the cut-out image data.
