Abstract: A printing apparatus includes a thermal head and a processor. The thermal head includes heat-generating elements and prints on a plurality of lines in a medium. The processor sets a second period within one of the setting periods. The second period is a time period for adjusting a temperature change of the heat-generating elements without printing on the medium, after a first period for printing. The processor determines a nth line (n: an integer of 2 or greater) among the lines based on printing data. The nth line is estimated to have a possibility of sticking in printing. The processor adjusts a temperature change of at least a part of the heat-generating elements in the second periods corresponding to at least the nth line and a (n?1)th line. The (n?1)th line is printed immediately before the nth line based on the printing data, to suppress the sticking.
Abstract: A printing apparatus includes a thermal head and a processor. The thermal head has heat-generating elements and prints on a plurality of lines in a medium in setting periods. The processor sets a second period within each setting period. The second period is a time period for adjusting a temperature change of the heat-generating elements without printing, after a first period for printing. The processor determines a nth line (n: an integer of 1 or greater) among the lines based on printing data for printing the image. The nth line is a line estimated to have a possibility of sticking on the medium by the thermal head. The processor adjusts a temperature change of at least a part of the heat-generating elements in the second periods corresponding to at least the nth line and a (n+1)th line, to suppress the sticking.

Abstract: A printer prints on a printing medium as the printer is moved. The printer includes a printing unit, a detector, and a controller. The printing unit prints an image on the printing medium. The detector detects a region on the printing medium that is not suitable to be printed on by the printing unit. The controller makes the printing unit stop printing when the detector detects the region on the printing medium that is not suitable to be printed on while the printing unit is printing.
Abstract: A display apparatus includes a number-of-touches detecting unit, a first touch-area detecting unit and a first switching control unit. The number-of-touches detecting unit detects the number of touch operations when a user performs a plurality of touch operations on a touch panel. The first touch-area detecting unit detects areas, including touch positions of the plurality of touch operations, from a plurality of areas into which the touch panel is partitioned. The first switching control unit controls switching display, based on the number of detected touch operations and the detected areas.

Abstract: A calculating device includes a receiver-and-transmitter and a processor. The receiver-and-transmitter is configured to communicate with a server. The processor performs processes including: transmitting (i) an increment of an independent variable per one display dot according to a variance range of the independent variable and the number of display dots on a screen, (ii) a function expression of the independent variable, and (iii) the variance range of the independent variable, to the server; receiving coordinate data of each display dot for generating a graph in a graph display range on the screen, from the server; and displaying a graph image generated at each display dot of the graph display range based on the coordinate data.
Abstract: An electronic device includes first and second processors, and first and second display units. While the first and second processors cooperate with each other and perform a display operation including a time display, the first processor can be set to a normal mode, a low power mode in which a power consumption is lower than a power consumption in the normal mode, or a pause mode in which a power consumption is lower than the power consumption in the low power mode, and the first processor is stopped. In the normal or low power modes, the first processor controls such that the first display unit displays a time, and the second processor controls such that the second display unit does not display a time. In the pause mode, the first display unit is turned off, and the second processor controls such that the second display unit displays a time.
Abstract: A printer includes a print head and a processor. The processor controls operation of the head. In an area where the head is movable, (i) a drawing region where a finger or a toe is placed, and the head performs drawing on a nail of the finger or the toe, (ii) a standby region where the head is positioned during a no-drawing period, and (iii) a suspension region where the head can stop temporarily are provided such that a moving distance of the head from the suspension region to the drawing region is shorter than a moving distance of the head from the standby region to the drawing region. If nails are successively subjected to the drawing, the processor causes the head to stop temporarily in the suspension region between drawing operations on the nails without causing the head to move to the standby region.
Abstract: A waste ink case includes a container. The container houses an ink absorber that absorbs ink. The container includes an ink introducing port, an exhaust vent, and a partition wall. Through the ink introducing port, the ink is introduced from a print head into the container. Through the exhaust vent, air in the container is exhausted. The partition wall acts as an obstruction between the ink introducing port and the exhaust vent. The ink absorber is provided along a ventilation passage. The ventilation passage is from the ink introducing port to the exhaust vent, detouring around the partition wall.
Abstract: A drawing device includes a plate configured to have placed thereon, an object that is a finger or a toe having a nail to be drawn on, an area into which the plate is detachably inserted, a camera configured to acquire an image, and at least one mirror. The mirror is provided in a position to reflect an image of a side surface of the object placed on the plate into a direction where the camera is able to capture the image of the side surface of the object in a state in which the object is placed on the plate in the area. The camera captures the image of the side surface of the object placed on the plate via the mirror.

Abstract: An electronic musical instrument allows a player to operate operators as least number of times as possible to play music, and the player can play music easily and agreeably, using the instrument. Every measure decided by plural beats counted based on a designated meter a prior tone is determined from among automatic playing music data. The prior tone is a musical tone which is made note-on for example at a timing of a downbeat in the measure. If a candidate for the prior tone is one of chord composing tones, and the one of chord composing tones can compose a melody, then such musical tone is decided as the prior tone. The prior tones successively decided from the beginning of the automatic playing music data are indicated to the player as lighted up keys. The player operates the lighted up keys successively to perform the automatic playing music data.
