Abstract: When transferring waveform data from a waveform region in a high-capacity flash memory to a waveform buffer in a RAM, first, whether a non-ring buffer region that can receive the waveform data can be allocated in the RAM is determined, and if so, the waveform data is transferred to the allocated non-ring buffer region. If such a non-ring buffer region cannot be allocated, then whether a ring buffer region that can receive the waveform data can be allocated in the RAM is determined, and if so, the waveform data is transferred to the ring-buffer region in a ring buffer operational manner.

Abstract: In a pairing establishment process, a controller (220) of a central (200) notifies a peripheral of the application identification information on the central (200). The controller (220) of the central (200) stores the device identification information on the peripheral received therefrom in a ROM (240). The application identification information is information to identify an application (that is, software) owned by the central (200). The application is to perform various communications with the peripheral.

Abstract: An electronic timepiece includes a storage unit and a processor. The storage unit associates and stores local time information with a corresponding geographical position. The local time information corresponds to each of a plurality of predetermined geographical positions. The processor acquires local time information corresponding to a geographical position selected from the plurality of geographical positions, as update information of a predetermined region including the selected geographical position. When update information corresponding to a target position for setting local time is acquired, the processor sets the local time by referring to the acquired update information. When the update information corresponding to a target position for setting local time is not acquired, the processor sets the local time by referring to the local time information.
Abstract: A processor randomly selects a page image group corresponding to a predetermined number of pages, such as five pages, from scan images of all the pages of a book, and clips a predetermined area (evaluation area) from each of the selected page images. Subsequently, the processor performs, on each clipped image, color correction and compression at a compression rate in accordance with an image quality specified via a user interface, and derives the data volume of each clipped image subjected to the processing. In addition, based on the data volumes of the clipped images subjected to the processing, the processor derives estimated one page data volumes. Then, by using the estimated one page data volumes, the processor derives an estimated data volume of a digital book corresponding to the total pages of the book.
