Abstract: In a flip cellular phone which is capable of receiving a television signal, when the cellular phone is brought to an open state after detecting an incoming call while receiving a television signal with the cellular phone kept in the closed state, the television receiving operation ceases automatically for communication by telephone, and thereby the user of the cellular phone is not required to execute a troublesome operation to quit receiving the television signal. The cellular phone does not cease receiving the television signal while the user is talking on the phone and outputs telephone talking voice in place of the television sound. Therefore, the user can enjoy watching the television program while talking on the phone. Further, since the cellular phone displays a television image and caller's information simultaneously, the user can confirm the caller's information.

Abstract: In a REC mode of an ordinary image pickup standby state, a main capacitor is connected to a side of a step-up/charging circuit via a switch, and the main capacitor is charged with electric power of a charging battery. When the REC mode is changed to other modes, the main capacitor is connected to a side of a step-down circuit by a switching operation of the switch. The step-down circuit steps down charging voltage of the main capacitor to 4.2 V to supply it to a power supply circuit of a camera, and steps down the charging voltage to 5 V to supply it to the charging battery which is a power supply of the camera. When it is no longer necessary to emit fill light, the electric power lost from the main capacitor due to natural discharge can automatically be utilized efficiently for operations other than the emission of the fill light.

Re-wiring is provided over the second ground potential layer.
Abstract: A character size is set according to the number of characters of a character string to be printed, and the number of printing operation times of a printer section and each operational condition of a rotation angle of a rotatable plate, which supports a recoding medium, which correspond to one printing operation, are set. According to the set operational condition, a part of the character string arranged in an arc shape is printed by one printing operation of the printer section in a state that the rotational plate is stopped, and the rotational plate is driven to rotate the recording medium by the set angle before a next printing operation is started. The printing operation and the rotating operation are repeated, thereby printing a series of character string on the circumference around a circular hole of the recording medium.
Abstract: A post-processor circuit subjects color processing to an output data of an imaging device, that is, CCD. The post-processor circuit is provided with RGB measurement circuits. Measurement points are located before and after processing circuits. RGB data obtained at these measurement points are selectively captured into the RGB measurement circuits to make measurement. By doing so, color data at a required portion is measured without using software processing, therefore, the measurement result is simply and rapidly obtained.
Abstract: An image pickup apparatus operating in a moving picture photographing mode, wherein, before a start of moving picture photographing is indicated by a shutter button on a key input section, a clock frequency of a control section is made to be a normal frequency so that electricity consumption is reduced in a monitoring state to lengthen the life of a buttery, and wherein, when a start of moving picture photographing is indicated, the clock frequency is increased to a large extent by a clock switching control section, so that an MPEG converter can access at a high speed an SDRAM storing YUV data such as reference data, search data, or the like at the time of encoding processing of moving picture data, and the moving picture compression in real-time can be achieved.
Abstract: An imaging device comprises an organic EL monitor for displaying an image from an image pick-up device. A controller sets such initial values of at least one of a diaphragm amount, an exposure time, and a gain to values for causing control that the luminance level is increased toward a proper level when a power is turned on. Displaying of a through-image of only white is prevented.
Abstract: A photosensor system performs a sensitivity-adjusting reading operation with respect to a subject image, while simultaneously changing the image reading sensitivity stepwise for each of rows of a photosensor array or for specific rows thereof. The dynamic ranges of the lightness data on the read subject image are checked to see how they are distributed in relation to the image reading sensitivities. On the basis of this distribution, an image reading sensitivity that contributes to an optimal image reading state is extracted as an optimal image reading sensitivity.
Abstract: In a digital camera (1), when a “+” key (17a) or a “?” key. (17b) is depressed to select reproduction/display of a panorama image after the reproduction mode is designated, the CPU (36) reads out the selected panorama image data from a flash memory (31), and stores it in a VRAM (26). When the “+” key (17a) or the “?” key (17b) is depressed after the first 1-frame image data of the panorama image data stored in the VRAM (26) is reproduced/displayed on the display screen of the display unit (12), the CPU (36) starts scrolling the displayed image on the display screen of the display unit (12).

Abstract: A control unit 13 gives to input data a real file name for uniquely identifying the input data and stores the input data in a memory card 7, and further stores in the memory card 7 a management file representing a relationship between the real file name and a title, both given to the same data. The title is entered through a key input unit 5 and given to the input data. The memory card 7 has plural directories assigned respectively to data sorts of input data. The data input from an external apparatus are automatically stored respectively in the corresponding directories depending on their data sorts. An extension representing a data sort is removed from the title which can be managed by a user and is given to the data previously stored in the memory card 7. Management information is created and stored in the memory card 7, which information represents relationship between the real file name and the title with the extension removed, both being given to each of the data stored in the memory card 7.
Abstract: An image processing circuit/CPU performs AF processing in response to a halfway shutter operation and upon confirmation of a shooting shutter instruction causes the light emitting means in a flash circuit to emit light, and decides the amount of light emitted at shooting time on the basis of the brightness component of an output signal of an imaging element, whereby a subject distance is calculated from the amount of light emitted at shooting time, wherein, when the in-focus decision in the AF processing is negative, an optical lens is moved by a lens drive circuit to the position corresponding to the subject distance which has been acquired on the basis of the amount of light emitted at shooting time and a shooting operation is then performed.

Abstract: At the start of driving a stepping motor, a CPU sets the switching widths of the first through eighth states in a pulse width setting register, sets the switching counts of the first through eighth states in a pulse switching count register, and sets the start of driving the stepping motor in a driving start register. A latch then outputs an excitation pulse, and the stepping motor is accelerated, driven at a constant speed, decelerated, and stopped. By setting the switching widths and switching counts of the first through eighth states at the start of driving and setting the start of driving, the CPU need not control the stepping motor, reducing the process burden on the CPU.
Abstract: A computer obtains a change amount of an image of a manuscript. If the change amount of the image of the manuscript is equal to or larger than a predetermined threshold, the computer determines that the image does not have movement, such as in a case where the manuscript is replaced, and switches the resolution of the image, which is possible to shorten the processing time, to low resolution. In a case where the manuscript is placed on a base, if the change amount of the image of the manuscript is less than the predetermined threshold, and the computer determines that the image does not have movement, the computer switches the resolution of the image to high resolution.
