Abstract: A tow truck of the type having wheels supporting it for movement along a path defined by a subfloor conveyor. There is a vertically movable tow pin at the front of the truck for vertical movement in and out of driving engagement with the conveyor. An accumulation bumper at the front of the truck is movable between a forward normal running position and a rearwardly retracted accumulating position when the bumper engages an object ahead of the truck. A connecting mechanism between the bumper and tow pin includes at least one bell crank member pivoted for rotation on a transverse axis behind the tow pin with a first lever arm projecting upwardly and connected by a link to the bumper, together with a second lever arm projecting forwardly and connected to a vertical lift rod, the upper end of which is operatively connected to the upper portion of the tow pin.
Abstract: Staple depressions formed in a panel by the operation of a pneumatic staple driver are automatically filled with putty from a disposable cartridge. Delivery of the putty from the cartridge is automatically sequenced by the operation of the staple driver trigger. Actuation and release of the staple driver trigger causes a measured quantity of putty to be forced into a putty delivery port. The putty is then pressed into the staple depression.
Abstract: The present invention is an attachment for a hand truck. The attachment comprises two truss members welded to the hand truck and two elongated rail members, each secured to one of the truss members. The rail members each include an elongated slide of an ultra-high molecular weight polymer which provide a low-friction surface for slidably supporting the hand truck on the edge of a stair.
Abstract: A mounting structure for a wheel mounting assembly such as a caster assembly having a mounting plate. Mounting blocks of viscoelastic rubber-like material are mounted on corners of the mounting plate. Each mounting block includes flanges which define a slot in which an edge portion of the mounting plate is received. Brackets attached to a support panel of a cart or the like supported by the caster assembly hold the flanges in compression against the faces of the mounting plate and against the panel so that the panel and the cart or the like are viscoelastically supported in spaced relation to a surface on which a wheel of the assembly runs.
Abstract: A sleeve for a caster, insertable into a cavity or hole in a furniture leg; the sleeve is generally tubular with a closed upper end and an open lower end; the sleeve is slotted longitudinally, forming diametrically opposed legs which are flexible toward and from each other; the legs have upper and lower prongs, the upper ones projecting upwardly and the lower ones projecting downwardly, both biting into the surface of the cavity and aiding in normally retaining the sleeve in the cavity; the upper prongs also releasably retain the caster stem in the sleeve; it also has transverse slots at the closed upper end communicating with the longitudinal slots.
