Patents Assigned to Centre Technique de l'Industrie des Papiers Cartons et Celluloses
  • Patent number: 4331713
Abstract: This invention relates to a method and apparatus for continuously coating a sheet article. The sheet article 21 is continuously driven and passes, upwardly along a vertical portion of its travel path, between two flexible blades 38 mounted on an holder 34 in such a manner that their feet are spaced from the sheet article 21.A coating composition 42 is injected into the corner 41 formed between the element 21 and the blade. The planer shape of the end zone of the blade applied against the sheet article in a parallel direction may be carried out by a pneumatic tube 40, as shown, or by other means such as flexible counterblades. The invention may be used, among others, in the coating of paper or paperboard.

  • Patent number: 4126656
Abstract: A method for manufacturing viscose filaments from a cellulosic starting material wherein a viscose is prepared from the cellulosic starting material, the viscose is extruded by passing it through a spinneret to form continuous thin strands, the extruded strands are passed continuously through a gaseous medium which contains at least one volatile agent of such a nature, and under such conditions, that a coagulating action on the said strands results, the strands which have thus been coagulated are then brought into contact with an acid medium which causes a pre-regeneration of the initial cellulose, so that the strands are converted to continuous filaments, and the filaments are passed through at least one other acid liquid medium which causes ultimate regeneration of the cellulose.

  • Patent number: 4035147
Abstract: Cellulosic materials having a high capacity for absorption of water or aqus solutions, a large volume:weight ratio and a high resilience are produced by an acid-catalyzed cross-linking reaction in a reaction medium of low water content from a cellulosic or lignocellulosic material in the form of individual, substantially dehydrated, non-swollen and inter-fibre-bonds free fibres.

  • Patent number: 3959570
Abstract: A method of manufacture from a predetermined material, especially from a natural fibrous material and/or synthetic fibrous material of an article, in particular a sheet for printing or reproduction, which combines superior qualities of brightness, opacity, thermal stability, insolubility and lightness, said method consisting of laoding said material throughout its mass or superficially, with a filler product having a base of a methylene urea precipitate with a low degree of polymerization, obtained by the reaction of urea on formaldehyde in an acid medium.
