Patents Assigned to Charter Communications Operating, LLC
  • Patent number: 11089653
Abstract: According to one configuration, a mobile communication device receives first communications over a first wireless communication link from a first wireless network (which potentially supports data only communications). The first communications received over the first wireless network can include a message indicating a pending incoming call available over a second wireless network (which potentially supports voice/call communications). In response to receiving the message indicating the pending incoming call, the mobile communication device is operated to receive second communications (such as a paging signal) from over the second wireless network. For example, the mobile communication device listens for a paging signal from the second wireless network further indicating the pending incoming call. If desired, an operator of the mobile communication device can accept the incoming call via a second wireless communication link to the second wireless network.

  • Patent number: 11080998
Abstract: A wireless system includes a master communication device in communication with multiple slave communication devices. During operation, the master communication device establishes first wireless connectivity with each of the multiple slave communication devices via a first wireless communication protocol. Each of the slave communication devices monitors vehicular traffic at a street intersection. The master communication device receives input of monitored vehicular traffic from the multiple slave communication devices. The master communication device communicates a status of the vehicular traffic over second wireless connectivity to a wireless base station in communication with a controller. The controller generates and communicates control information based on the detected vehicular traffic to the master communication device that distribute the control information to the slave communication devices.

  • Patent number: 11080939
Abstract: Generating test cases for augmented reality (AR) application testing is disclosed. In one embodiment, an AR computing device constructs a virtual object hierarchy comprising a plurality of nodes corresponding to a plurality of virtual objects of a test AR environment. The AR computing device next generates an event-flow graph based on the virtual object hierarchy, wherein the event-flow graph comprises a directed graph comprising a plurality of vertices, wherein each vertex corresponds to an event supported by a virtual object of the plurality of virtual objects, and a plurality of edges, wherein each edge connects two (2) vertices of the plurality of vertices. The AR computing device then identifies a plurality of paths based on the event-flow graph, wherein each path comprises one or more edges of the plurality of edges. The paths are then stored as a plurality of test cases (e.g., for use as input during subsequent testing).

  • Patent number: 11080648
Abstract: A data recovery system (apparatus) includes first management hardware at a first location and second management hardware at a second location. The first management hardware includes or executes a corresponding primary order manager to process first orders. The second management hardware includes or executes a primary manager to process second orders. Each of the first management hardware and the second management hardware includes auxiliary resources to execute functions on behalf of each other in the event of a failure. For example, the first management hardware executes an auxiliary order manager to process the second orders during conditions in which the primary order manager of the second management hardware is unable to process the second orders; the second management hardware executes an auxiliary order manager to process the first orders during conditions in which the primary order manager of the first management hardware is unable to process the first orders.

  • Patent number: 11082475
Abstract: Measuring quality-of-experience (QoE) for virtual reality (VR) streaming content is disclosed. A network computing device receives a client-side VR stream capture and a client pose data set that are generated by a client computing device based on a VR content and one or more induced network impairments (e.g., latency, packet loss, and/or jitter, as non-limiting examples). Using the same VR content and the client pose data set, the network computing device generates a source VR stream capture that is not subjected to the one or more induced network impairments. The network computing device performs a frame-by-frame comparison of the client-side VR stream capture and the source VR stream capture. Based on the frame-by-frame comparison, the network computing device generates a QoE metric that indicates a degree of degradation of the client-side VR stream capture relative to the source VR stream capture.

  • Patent number: 11082937
Abstract: Timing synchronization information is communicated to a plurality of indoor communications devices supporting NB-IoT, e.g., indoor CBSDs supporting NB-IoT, from an outdoor communications device, e.g. a cellular base station supporting NB-IoT signaling using guard bands of a communications channel. An indoor device receiving the timing synchronization information from the outdoor device via NB-IoT signaling may, and sometimes does, process and forward synchronization information to other indoor devices, e.g. other CBSDs, which may be out of direct range of the outdoor device. In some embodiments, a plurality of outdoor base stations supporting NB-IoT receive timing reference information for distribution from the same NPT server coupled to a single reference source, e.g. an atomic clock.

  • Patent number: 11075877
Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices for performing targeted filtering of network traffic generated by user equipment (UE) devices connected to a customer premise device (CPE) in a communication system that includes a distributed residential gateway. A broadband network gateway may be configured to identify a UE device in a local area network (LAN) associated with the CPE that is compromised, misconfigured, or operating outside normal communication parameters. The broadband network gateway may send a dynamic host configuration protocol (DHCP) force renew message via a wide area network (WAN) to the identified UE device in the LAN, generate a DHCP offer message that presents a new Internet protocol (IP) address assignment that is within a range of IP addresses included in a layer 2/3 access list, and send the generated DHCP offer message to the UE device to quarantine the UE device.

  • Publication number: 20210226727
Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods and systems for determining conditions for non-terminated service provider network connections. The method includes receiving, at a service provider headend, upstream signals from premises. An uncorrectable metric and a correctable metric are determined from a portion of the upstream signals upon application of signal correction to the upstream signals, where the portion is related to an operating frequency range of a networking device and an operating frequency range of Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification (DOCSIS) devices. An alert is generated when the determined uncorrectable metric meets an uncorrectable threshold and the determined correctable metric is less than a correctable threshold for a persistent period of time, where the non-termination alert indicates a non-terminated pathway to a service provider central office from the premises when service is provided to the premises from a different service provider central office.

  • Patent number: 11044119
Abstract: A router device in a subscriber domain receives communications from a communication device. The communications are destined for delivery over a first network operated by a corresponding service provider to a destination in a second network such as the Internet. To convey communications, the router device maps a network address obtained from the first communications to a corresponding marker assigned to the communication device. The router device then tags the communications from the communication device with the corresponding marker and forwards the tagged communications (with the marker) over the first network to the second network. The first network operated by the service provider conveys the tagged communications in accordance with a data delivery policy as indicated by the corresponding marker in the forwarded communications.

  • Patent number: 11044597
Abstract: Apparatus and methods for registration of e.g., mobile devices in one or more wireless networks. In one embodiment, the apparatus and methods provide enhanced wireless services which enable operation of a given mobile device (e.g., a 3GPP-compliant UE) within two or more mobile networks (e.g., PLMNs) of respective different operators. In one implementation, the UE operates in dual-registration mode or DRM to allow different interworking between the two networks, and includes independent registration capability to 5GC and EPC infrastructure simultaneously. Accordingly, the UE is provided umbrella 4G/4.5G coverage over one or more small-cell 5G networks, with respective independent operators of each. Enhanced DRM-UEe capability as described herein advantageously allows for service provision (e.g., voice service) and interworking between the macro and small-cell layers of the system without complicated network configuration requirements between the two operating networks.
