  • Patent number: 11527043
Abstract: Providing selectable virtual reality (VR) viewpoints within a VR environment is disclosed. In one embodiment, a network computing device provides downloadable VR content that defines a VR environment comprising a plurality of viewpoints. The plurality of viewpoints may include, as non-limiting examples, one or more viewpoints corresponding to one or more VR participants within the VR environment, and/or one or more predefined non-participant viewpoints. The network computing device receives a viewpoint selection indication from a client computing device of a spectator of the VR environment, wherein the viewpoint selection indication corresponds to a selected viewpoint of the plurality of viewpoints. The network computing device then transmits, to the client computing device, a pose data stream comprising pose data corresponding to the selected viewpoint. The client computing device may then display the VR environment based on the VR content and the pose data corresponding to the selected viewpoint.

  • Patent number: 11523002
Abstract: A network services provider delivers bandwidth services to users in relation to a dynamic limit based on an average user consumption, rather than a fixed amount per subscriber. An average user consumption is employed to compute a consumption limit from relative portions of a user community substantially exceed the average, typically defined as “heavy users.” Usage levels below the consumption limit have an increased availability up to the consumption limit. The consumption limit may vary from a total capacity of the service infrastructure, which changes, generally in an increasing manner, as additional resources are added to the network. The consumption limits may be defined over different service intervals, such as daily, weekly or monthly, and for different groups of users depending on network layout.

  • Publication number: 20220386132
Abstract: In a wireless communications system, such as a 5G CBRS system, a Spectrum Access System (SAS) assigns portions of the (CBRS) spectrum to associated base stations (CBSDs). In some embodiments, a central spectrum-database server receives information about spectrum allocations made by two or more different SASs operated by different companies and tabulates that information in a combined spectrum database that each SAS can independently retrieve for use in allocating bandwidth to its CBSDs. In some implementations, the messages between each SAS and multiple associated CBSDs are transmitted via a domain proxy that snoops on multiple spectrum-allocation-related messages (e.g., spectrum grant/revocation messages and/or heartbeat messages) to gather the information to be transmitted to the server, where the information does not include any company- or network-sensitive information.

  • Patent number: 11515919
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for facilitating the use of a plurality of antenna beams for communications purposes are described. In at least some embodiments beam priority information is periodically exchanged. Multiple timers are used to ensure beam information is exchanged at intervals intended to facilitate reliable beam synchronization and to control switching to one or more alternative beams in a predictable manner in the event beam change information or beam synchronization information is lost. In some but not all embodiments a wideband beam is used to communicate beam synchronization information when synchronization using narrower beams used for normal data communication is lost.

  • Patent number: 11516778
Abstract: A user equipment has been allocated uplink resources, e.g. interlaced uplink channel resources, e.g. interlaced physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) resources, and non-interlaced uplink channel resources. The UE receives cancellation indication (CI) information which rescinds the allocation for a portion of the previous granted resources. CI is communicated using different formats for resources which are in blocks and resources which are interlaced. The CI for the interlaced resources uses a more efficient format with less overhead to communicate frequency information corresponding to the cancellation for the interlaced channel.

Abstract: Methods and systems for a passive noise dampener. A system includes a hybrid fiber-coaxial network which carries content signals between a service provider system and premises, where the hybrid fiber-coaxial network is susceptible to receiving wireless noise signals, a plurality of passive noise dampeners, each passive noise dampener connected between the hybrid fiber-coaxial network and a premise of the premises. Each passive noise dampener includes an antenna based on medium used in the hybrid fiber-coaxial network. The antenna receives the wireless noise signals. A phase shifting device phase shifts 180 degrees phase shift the wireless noise signals received by the antenna to generate a counter signal. A directional coupler injects the counter signal into the hybrid fiber-coaxial network to mitigate impact of the wireless noise signals received by the hybrid fiber-coaxial network on the content signals. The antenna, the phase shifting device, and the directional coupler are passive devices.

Abstract: Methods and systems for service integrated domain name servers are described. A method for out of path border gateway protocol (BGP) validation includes receiving, at a network component, a prefix announcement. The network component denies acceptance of the prefix announcement. A BGP monitor at the network component sends the prefix announcement to an out of path validation controller. • Patent number: 11507582
Abstract: Event-driven Internet of Things (IoT) abstraction using rules is disclosed herein. In one embodiment, a network computing device that provides an IoT management (IoTM) service is communicatively coupled to an IoT device. The IoTM service receives multiple rules, each of which comprises an event identifier that identifies an event that the IoT device is capable of emitting, and an action identifier that identifies an action to be performed by the IoTM service (e.g., a command to be issued to the IoT device or an operation to be performed by the IoTM service). Upon receiving a first event emitted by the IoT device, the IoTM service identifies a first rule of the plurality of rules based on a first event identifier of the first rule that matches the first event. The IoTM service then executes a first action, wherein a first action identifier of the first rule identifies the first action.

  • Patent number: 11510078
Abstract: An improved channel access mechanism provides collision avoidance improves throughput. A communications device, e.g. an end node in a long range wireless communications system, determines that data is to be transmitted and performs a channel activity detection operation to determine if a communications channel is busy or idle. In response to determining that the channel is busy, the communications device determines a wait time based on a random number and a number of times a busy channel has been detected since determining that data is to be transmitted. The communications device uses the determined wait time in determining when to transmit.

Abstract: A wireless network environment includes multiple wireless stations (such as fixed wireless access points or customer premises equipment), a wireless network of one or more wireless base stations, and a communication management resource. A first wireless station establishes a first wireless link with the wireless network. A second wireless station establishes a second wireless link with the wireless network. • Publication number: 20220361092
Abstract: A radio access network (RAN) for a wireless communication network transmits, to user equipment (UE), information about NPN services provided by a non-public network (NPN) supported by the wireless network, where the UE is not subscribed to the NPN. In some embodiments, the NPN service information is periodically broadcasted to the UE; in other embodiments, the information is transmitted in response to receiving a request from the UE. In response to receiving the NPN service information, the UE transmits and the RAN receives an on-boarding request from the UE to on-board the UE to the NPN, which the RAN forwards to an on-boarding network (OBN) of the wireless network. In response, the RAN receives NPN credentials for the UE from the OBN, which the RAN forwards to the UE, which uses the NPN credentials to register to the NPN, thereby enabling the non-subscribing UE to subscribe to the NPN.

  • Publication number: 20220361171
Abstract: In a (5G CBRS) network having a (CBSD) base station communicating with a (SAS) bandwidth manager via a cable modem (CM), the CM maintains a long timer and a short timer for each bandwidth allocation to the CBSD. When the CM receives a heartbeat message from the CBSD, the CM re-starts the long and short timers and transmits the heartbeat message to the SAS. When the short timer expires, the CM re-starts the short timer and transmits a copy of the stored heartbeat message to the SAS. When the long timer expires, the CM stops transmitting a copy of the stored heartbeat message to the SAS. In this way, the CM effectively extends the time limit before the SAS will de-allocate bandwidth from the CBSD to handle situations where the CBSD is temporarily unable to send heartbeat messages to the SAS even though the CBSD still needs the allocated bandwidth.
