Abstract: The present invention relates to a hydrophilic surface structure of the non-hydrophilic substrate and the manufacturing method for using the same. The hydrophilic substrate surface structure is fabricated by forming an amphiphilic polymer layer, a cross-linked stacking layer, and a hydrophilic layer in sequence on the surface of a non-hydrophilic substrate. For example, the hydrophobic surface of poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS) can be made from hydrophobic to hydrophilic and the hydrophilicity can be retained for a long period of time and resist protein adsorption. The hydrophilic thin films give long term stability to the PDMS surface by resisting hydrophobicity recovery, which is the major problem with PDMS. The disclosed method can further be used in the immobilization of protein and other molecules. This method can also be used for modifying other substrates which suffer problems of surface instability.

Abstract: A method of monitoring surface status and life of a pad by detecting temperature of a polishing interface during a CMP process. The method include the steps of preparing and placing a brand-new pad under an artificially controlled environment for several CMP tests until termination of its operational life to conclude a relationship between the last stable temperature-rise at a polishing trace during the CMP process and surface roughness of the pad. Then conducting a polishing test of a subject pad under an artificially controlled environment to conclude a relationship between the last stable temperature-rise at a polishing trace during the CMP process and surface roughness of the subject pad. Comparing the two relationships indicated in the aforesaid two steps for analysis to monitor the surface status and operational life of the subject pad.
Abstract: The present invention discloses a DNA vaccine and the method of preparation preparing the same, which employs DNA recombination technique to co-incorporate a fragment of tumor-associated gene and a fragment of cytokine gene into a vector. The administration of such DNA vaccine can enhance the immune response of the host through the co-expression of tumor-associated protein and cytokine, and thereby achieve the therapeutic effect of inhibiting or retarding tumor growth.
Abstract: A modular jack connector has an anti-mismating element for preventing incorrect insertion of smaller sized plug connectors. The modular jack connector includes all insulating housing, an insulating terminal seat disposed in the insulating housing, a plurality of contacts disposed in the insulating terminal seat, and two metal anti-mismating elements. One end of each anti-mismating element is fixed to the insulating terminal seat, and the other end is bifurcated with an inner bifurcation bent downward and vertically to form a stopper and an outer bifurcation extending forward and downward to form an inclined guide. The distance between the two stoppers of the two anti-mismating elements is smaller than that between the two inclined guides and equals the width of the smaller sized plug connector. A smaller sized plug connector cannot contact the inclined guides and are blocked by two stoppers to avoid incorrect insertion while it is inserted.
Abstract: A memory card connector mountable onto a PCB for connecting a memory card includes a housing and a shell covering the housing to define a receiving room for receiving the memory card. The shell has two opposite sides electronically connecting to the PCB and a shell-conductive portion formed and bent inward from one side of the shell. A plurality of terminals is contained in the housing and has contacting portions extending into the receiving room for engagement with the memory card. A detecting terminal disposed in one side of the housing has a resilient contact arm disposed behind the contacting portions and a terminal-conductive portion extending toward the shell-conductive portion. The resilient contact arm is deflectable by the fully inserted memory card, which drives the terminal-conductive portion to electronically contact the shell-conductive portion, thereby detecting full insertion of the memory card.
Abstract: A shielded antenna connector includes an insulating housing defining an electrical terminal receiving cavity therein, an electrical terminal received in the terminal receiving cavity, and a shield covering the insulating housing. A receiving space is formed between the shield and the insulating housing and configured to receive an antenna. The electrical terminal has a contact portion extending upwardly into the receiving space to electrically contact the antenna. Latch means is defined between the shield and the insulating housing for securing the shield to the insulating housing firmly. A pair of elastic pressing pieces is defined in the shield and slopes into the receiving space to compress the antenna tightly.
Abstract: A low profile microphone connector includes a dielectric housing and electrical terminals located in the housing. The housing has a generally cylindrical wall, a generally cylindrical microphone insertion cavity defined by the cylindrical wall, a supporting base formed at a lower portion of the cylindrical wall, and a plurality of ribs formed at an upper portion of the cylindrical wall. A PCB has a generally circular hole and a plurality of positioning slots defined along the periphery of the circular hole. In assembly, the cylindrical wall sinks into the circular hole of the PCB, the supporting base abuts against a bottom face of the PCB, and the ribs engage with the positioning slots to position the connector on the PCB. So the connector has a low profile over the PCB and reliably retained on the PCB.
Abstract: A method for surface treatment is disclosed. The method is achieved by forming a MgO film on a metal surface through anode processing of Mg or Mg alloy in an alkaline solution. The alkaline solution includes a hydroxide, a thickening agent, and a film adjusting agent. As the method is performed, the target object is immersed in the alkaline solution, and the target object is connected to an anode with an average electric current density of 1˜5 A/dm, at a temperature of 0˜30° C., and within a time period of 10˜120 minutes to form a film of 5˜25 ?m. The forming rate of the film of the method of the present invention is fast, and the formed film is of little stress.
