    Abstract: A method to construct an in-vitro human blood brain barrier (BBB) model is disclosed, which comprises steps: attaching suspension liquids of human brain vascular pericytes (HBVPs) and human astrocytes (HAs) by a ratio of 1:1, 1:2, or 1:6 to a bottom surface of a filter membrane of a culture dish to plant HBVPs and HAs on the bottom surface; filling a suspension liquid of human brain microvascular endothelial cells (HBMECs) into a top surface of the filter membrane to plant HBMECs on the top surface; placing the culture dish in a well plate containing a culture medium, and placing the well plate in a carbon-dioxide incubator; replacing the culture medium with a condition medium; and replacing the condition medium once daily for a plurality of days. Thereby is constructed an in-vitro human BBB model of high medical research availability.

    Abstract: A low-complexity method of converting 2D images/videos into 3D ones includes the steps of identifying whether each pixel in one of the frames is an edge feature point; locating at least two vanishing lines in the frame according to the edge feature point; categorizing the frame into the one of close-up photographic feature, of landscape feature, and of vanishing-area feature; if the frame is identified to have the vanishing-area feature or the landscape feature to generate a GDM; and apply a modificatory procedure to the GDM to generate a final depth information map; if the frame is identified to have the close-up photographic feature, distinguish between a foreground object and a background information in the frame and define the depth of field to generate the final depth information map.

    Abstract: A transdermal drug delivery patch and a method of controlling the drug release of the transdermal drug delivery patch by near-IR are disclosed. The transdermal drug delivery patch comprises a substrate, carriers and drugs. The drugs are encapsulated in the carriers, and the carriers having the drugs are disposed on a surface of the substrate. The carriers are formed of biodegradable polymers, and nano-particles with a photothermal conversion effect are loaded in the carrier. When the carriers are punctured into the skin and the nano-particles in the carrier absorb the near-IR, the near-IR is converted into heat by the nano-particles to melt the carrier and thus releasing the drugs encapsulated in the carrier into the skin. Accordingly, the speed of releasing the drugs encapsulated in the carrier can be controlled accurately by the near-IR.
