  • Publication number: 20140150393
Abstract: A knife carrier for a chopper drum is formed with a plurality of knife carrier segments, each designed as a circular-ring disk section of a circular-ring disk that can be accommodated on an outer diameter of a circular-cylindrical drum body of the chopper drum. The knife carrier segments each have an outer-peripheral surface having a predetermined number of knife receptacles. The knife carrier segments each have a circumferential length such that all the knife carrier segments form the circular-ring disk when placed next to one another along the circumferential length thereof. Each knife carrier segment has fixing means for the defined positioning of the knife carrier segments with respect to the drum body and for the detachable attachment of the knife carrier segment on the outer diameter of the drum body.

  • Patent number: 7043889
Abstract: A harvesting machine for harvesting stalk crops, such as maize or the like, has at least two cutting and intake units which have a series of drum-like cutting and intake elements which can be rotated about essentially vertical axes and are fastened to supporting elements. It is arranged for at least one cutting and intake unit to be pivoted about a pivot axis which is positioned in the direction of travel. When the cutting and intake units are in a transporting position, the view in the direction of travel is significantly improved. This is achieved by at least two intake and cutting units being arranged so they can be pivoted in opposed directions so that one overlies the other in the transporting position and so that those on one side of the machine are spaced from those on the other side of the machine at that position.

  • Patent number: 6598381
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for pivoting the dividers of an agricultural machine for the harvesting of row crops. A multiple-part attachment having feeder housings to receive the row crops is attached to the front of the agricultural machine. The multiple-part attachment has side frames that are pivotable from a working position to a non-working position. Outer row crop dividers are arranged on the side frames in such a way that when the side frames are pivoted, the outer row crop dividers move relative to the adjacent inner row crop dividers. The relative movement of the outer row crop dividers prevents them from colliding with each other when the side frames are in a non-working position and allows for maximum feeder housing width when the side frames are in a working position.

  • Patent number: 6560953
Abstract: A harvester at least one adapting device for receiving a front attachment, wherein a mechanically and/or hydraulically switchable reversing device is associated with at least one of the working components of the agricultural harvesting machine which are at the front in the direction of travel and the front attachment, which is received by the adapting device, can be moved by at least one displacement device into at least one non-working position which is at a distance from the working components of the agricultural harvesting machine, and which forms a gap for passage of crop between the front attachment and these working components. In this way, in the non-working position a through-gap is created between the front attachment and the working components of the harvesting machine, through which the crop stream conveyed out of the agricultural harvesting machine during the reversing process and interspersed with one or more foreign bodies can flow down in the direction of the ground.

  • Patent number: 6412259
Abstract: The device for harvesting corn or similar cereals, which can be constructed particularly as an attachment for combine harvesters or field choppers, having two gathering rollers, which are disposed on either side of a gathering gap for separating the fruit from the plant part bearing it, are driven to rotate about axes of rotation pointing in the direction of travel of the device and are provided with several longitudinally extending cross members, ribs or similar projections, forming working edges protruding over the basic bodies of their rollers. The working edges of the gathering rollers, disposed distributed over the perimeter of the basic bodies of the rollers, traverse working surfaces tapering conically towards the front end of the gathering rollers and with one another or with the basic body of the respectively adjacent gathering roller, form the boundary of the passage gap. The axes of rotation of the gathering rollers converge towards the front ends of the gathering rollers.

  • Patent number: 6341481
Abstract: A harvesting machine, such as a combine, has a number of laterally equispaced, side by side, rotatable augers (14) extending in a forward direction, each auger having a rotatable auger shaft (16) which is included upwardly towards the rear and an auger flight on the shaft. Inclined troughs (32) are located beneath each auger (14) with the auger flight (18) being rotatable in the trough. Inclined slots (28) are also provided which extend rearwardly from respective slot entrances at the forward end of the header, the slots being sufficiently wide to allow passage of stalks of material to be harvested but too narrow to allow passage of crop ears or other material to be collected so that the crop ears or other material to be collected can be stripped from the stalks by the action of the slots during forward movement of the header. The augers are rotated by a drive.

  • Patent number: 6237314
Abstract: The invention concerns an apparatus for harvesting stalk crops, with at least one conveying device revolving around deflecting elements for conveying the crop along at least one snapping roller constructed in one or more parts and associated with a snapping gap which is variably adjustable with snapping gap plates arranged in guides, wherein the conveying element of the conveying device provides traction with a tensioner running in a guide portion, preferably a chain, which is at least partly surrounded by guide elements, at least one of the displaceable snapping gap plates, or at least one tensioner and are made of elastic vibration-damping material. As a result the number of parts to be assembled or to be exchanged in case of damage is considerably reduced, and by the use of an elastic vibration-damping material, besides a reduction of wear-increasing vibrations, a reduction in the whole weight of the front attachment is achieved.

  • Patent number: 6195973
Abstract: A hay making machine including at least two working elements in the form of rotary rakes which are carried by intermediate frames. The intermediate frames are arranged on a support frame and supported on the ground by at least one land wheel. The intermediate frames are pivotally connected for following the contours of the ground as picked-up by the land wheels, and for pivoting about axes which extend in the direction of travel between a working position and a transportation position and vice versa. The intermediate frames also support the transmission members of the drive train, especially shafts and the power train, which are needed for conveying the drive energy to the rotary rakes rotating about vertical axes. Furthermore, the intermediate frames are connected together in the vicinity of the articulated connection between adjacent intermediate frames by coupling consisting of two coupling units that co-operate via meshing elements.

  • Patent number: 6119443
Abstract: A corn harvesting attachment for attachment to a self-propelled harvesting machine such as e.g. a combine harvester is described, which can cut independently of the rows and pick the corn ears off the stalks in order to process them separately from the rest of the plants, for example thresh them out. Picking units are associated with the individual feed regions of the cutter bar, which comprise large conveying discs provided with edge recesses. The cut-off whole plants, which are picked upright, are transferred to the picking units either by means of clearing discs or by the fact that the receiving sections of the picking units enter the circle in which the conveying discs move.
