Abstract: A holder for sewing needles with thread is provided which includes a reel having an end plate and a winding member for winding the thread. The holder further includes a retaining member, such as a pin cushion, for positioning each needle relative to the end plate. The holder also has a base for supporting the reel for rotational movement. The base is formed with an upright wall enclosing but spaced from the winding member to provide a clearance between the upright wall and the winding member. The upright wall is formed with a slit through which the thread of the needle is brought into the above-mentioned clearance while the reel is rotated.
Abstract: A loop turner is used for turning a loop member inside out. The loop turner includes a bar body having a front end and a rear end. The bar body is provided with a clip segment for coming into removable engagement with the open mouth edge of the loop member, and a string holding cutout for removably holding a reinforcing string which is inserted through the loop member simultaneously while the loop member is turned inside out.
Abstract: A pair of grip scissors comprises a generally U-shaped spring member integrally made of a resin and a pair of blade members attached to the respective free ends of the spring member. The respective free ends of the spring member are provided with an opposed pair of stoppers bulging toward each other. The respective stoppers come into stopping abutment with each other when the spring member is manually gripped. Each stopper has a mounting side face directed away from the mounting side face of the other stopper, and each blade member has a connecting portion attached laterally to the mounting side face of the corresponding stopper.
Abstract: A multi-columned needlewoven strip comprising two or three columns each formed of a series of loops of surface yarns and disposed side-by-side in which each of the loops of a surface yarn forming one column has a pair of loop-closing portions interlocked with another surface yarn forming another column disposed adjacent to the one column; and the multi-columned needlewoven strip is formed by a method which comprises steps of: threading core yarns respectively through respective eyes formed in a lower end of each of weaving needles so as to provide cores each hanging down from the respective lower ends of the needles; forming a slip knot in a lower end of each of the surface yarns; sliding the slip knot onto each of the needles; wounding the surface yarns around the respective needles to form columns of loops so that each of the loops of the one column is formed with a pair of loop-closing portions interlocked with the cooperating surface yarn forming the other column, and sliding down the columns onto the cor
Abstract: A knitting yarn guide according to the invention comprises a mounting ring fittable on a knitter's finger. The mounting ring has an elongated flat support surface extending axially of the ring and formed with integral yarn guide pins which are spaced from each other axially of the ring. A hinge arm 3 is connected to the ring at one end of the support surface by an integral hinge, and has a free end removably engageable with the ring at the other end of the support surface. The arm is pivotable about the hinge from an open position to a yarn guiding position in which the arm cooperates with the support surface to define separate yarn guide passages between the yarn guide pins.
