Abstract: A timing controller includes a data grouping part that generates a plurality of grayscale groups based on input image data, each grayscale group including n×m grayscales, a grayscale classifying part that generates a plurality of grayscale patterns respectively corresponding to the grayscale groups, a grayscale in the grayscale groups being classified in the grayscale patterns as a first grayscale if the grayscale is higher than a first reference grayscale or as a second grayscale if the grayscale is lower than a second reference grayscale, a pattern comparing part that compares each grayscale pattern with a first pattern including the n×m first and second grayscales, a pattern counter that counts a number of patterns of the grayscale patterns that are substantially the same as the first pattern, and a driving mode changing part that changes a driving mode of a display panel when the number is greater than a reference number.

Abstract: An antenna is connected to a first end of a high-frequency transmission line, and a connector is connected to a second end of the high-frequency transmission line. A characteristic impedance of a microstrip line is higher than characteristic impedances of first and second strip lines, and a characteristic impedance of a coplanar line is higher than a characteristic impedance of the second strip line. Thus, at a certain frequency, a standing wave develops in which the position of the microstrip line and the position of the coplanar line are maximum voltage points and three-quarter-wavelength resonance is a fundamental wave mode. Thus, the cutoff frequency of the high-frequency transmission line is high, and an insertion loss of a signal is significantly reduced to be low over a wide band.

Abstract: System and method are provided for protecting a power converter. The system includes a first comparator, and an off-time component. The apparatus for correcting image distortion includes a virtual curved surface generator, a coordinate mapping unit, and a luminance converter.

Abstract: A touch panel, a display device and a driving method thereof are provided. In the touch panel, a transparent conductive layer is arranged on a side of an array substrate away from an opposite substrate. The transparent conductive layer, functioning as a shielding layer, and touch detection electrodes are applied with an identical touch detection signal at a touch stage. A capacitor is formed by the shielding layer and a metal layer below the touch panel, and a change in distance from the touch panel to the metal layer due to deformation of the touch panel pressed by a finger only affects capacitance between the shielding layer and the metal layer and causes a change in the touch detection signal applied to the shielding layer, while capacitances of the touch detection electrodes are not affected. Therefore, the accuracy of touch sensing is effectively improved.

According to an embodiment of the present invention, a method for transmitting a synchronization signal by a base station in a filter bank multi carrier (FBMC) system and a base station using the same may be provided, the method comprising the steps of: generating a frequency-domain quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) symbol sequence having a length of k for a synchronization signal; mapping the QAM symbol sequence to a sub-carrier of a filter bank on the basis of the correlation characteristic of the synchronization signal; generating a quadrature amplitude modulation-filter bank multicarrier (QAM-FBMC) symbol including the synchronization signal on the basis of the mapping, and transmitting the generated QAM-FBMC symbol. In addition, a terminal communicating with the base station and an operation method for the terminal may be provided.
