Abstract: A film of a composite material is deposited by electropolymerization onto electrically conductive surface. A mixture comprising a monomer, a substance forming a dopant, a supporting electrolyte and a solvent is subjected to electrolysis in which the conductive surface to be coated is used as either cathode or anode. The cathode or anode is polarized to a potential between the electron transfer between the electrically conductive surface and the monomer. Prior to electrolysis, a solution is made from the mixture containing the substance forming a dopant either as anion, cation, molecule, and/or as undissociated complex.

Abstract: Fluidic regulating device intended to be placed between a blank-holder and the sliding member serving to displace the blank-holder. It comprises for example a body (11) intended to be mounted on the abovementioned sliding member (4) in such a way as to be driven by the latter, said body (11) accommodating at least one compact fluidic jack (12) and comprising at least one pipe (13) for feeding a pressurized fluid into the jack or jacks (12), the piston (15) of each jack being attached to a movable member (16) intended to work in conjunction with and displace the blank-holder (3) with respect to said body (11), in such a way that, when the displacement of the abovementioned sliding member is stopped by a stop (18), before the blank-holder (3) has come into contact with a blank placed on or against the die (2), the force exerted by the blank-holder on said blank is determined by the pressure of the fluid injected into said jack (12) and can vary during the stamping cycle.

Abstract: A method for metallothermally reheating a liquid steel bath in a metallurgical container into which a metal fuel is placed and oxidizing and agitating gases are injected under its surface. A controllable flow resulting from the injection of agitating gas is generated in the bath by means of a device which is separate from the oxidizing gas injection device, and the metal fuel is inserted into said flow so that it comes into contact with said oxidizing gas.
Abstract: A device for continuously grinding the edges of moving metal foil comprises a stationary support on which a mobile support can slide perpendicular to the strip. The mobile support comprises a pivoting arm, the ends of which are provided with a roller for guiding the strip, lower and upper dressing rollers, an upstream tool holder, with at least one tool for dressing the edge and a downstream tool holder for chamfering the edge. The mobile support is brought into contact with the edge of the strip by the application of an adjustable pressure to the guide.

Abstract: Disclosed is a phosphated steel product and a method for producing the product. The method comprises passing at least one side of a steel strip through a molten bath of a metal selected from the group consisting of Zn-Al and Zn-Fe to form a first coating, electroplating a second coating consisting of essentially a pure metal selected from the group consisting of Mn, Fe and Ni onto the first coating and subjecting the exposed surface of the second coating to a phosphating treatment to form a phosphate coating on the second coating.

Abstract: This invention provides a process and an apparatus for baking an organic coating which has been applied to a substrate. Such coated substrates are conventionally baked in a furnace using a mixture of combustion gas and air. This process in uneconomical in terms of energy consumption and also involves cleansing of used gases before they can be discharged into the atmosphere. The present invention provides a rapid process for baking such coatings in an inert gas atmosphere by means of short-wavelength infra-red rays. Coatings are heated in such a penetrating manner than they are baked at the substrate/coating interface and this prevents the formation of swellings.
Abstract: There is described a device for electrolytically depositing, in a continuous operation and under a high current density, a lining metal layer over at least the one surface of a metal strip moving through an electrolytic bath, comprising at least one conducting roller cooperating with a cathode current supply, extending cross-wise relative to the strip movement direction and rotating about the axis thereof, in contact with the strip, substantially at the same circumferential speed as the traversing speed thereof, at least one anode being provided in the electrolytic bath facing at least the one surface of the strip moving through said bath, device in which said conducting roller is at least partly hollow, and the cathode current supply comprises a series of parallel-connected contacts which are distributed over that inner cylinder-like surface of the roller which lies opposite that outer surface portion the strip is applied on.
Abstract: An apparatus which comprises at least one abrasive rubbing element mounted on a retractable support extending over all the width of the roll face. The abrasive rubbing element is applied with a predetermined pressure against the roll face during operation.
Abstract: A method of securing a lagging component to a metal surface, comprising: positioning a prefabricated lagged component having one or more holes on the metal surface; inserting a securing element into each hole of the lagging component until its end touches the metal surface; welding the securing element to the surface using a welding gun; and filling the remaining hole cavity with a packing material around the securing element. The securing element is held in place prior to welding by a cardboard retainer.
Abstract: A shotting turbine having blades with working faces having a longitudinal profile comprising a convex part and a concave part with angles of curvature chosen to provide an optimized rate of ejection of the shot and a high concentration of the jet.
