Abstract: Disclosed is a toothbrush comprising an optical machine-readable representation of data, such as a barcode. Also disclosed is an oral care implement comprising a surface and a plurality of protrusions extending at least 1 millimeter from the surface, the protrusions at least partially defining an optical machine-readable representation of data, such as a barcode. Also disclosed is a system, comprising: an oral care implement comprising an optical machine-readable representation of data, such as a barcode; and a device comprising a processor and memory storing computer readable instructions for causing the processor to process an image of the optical machine-readable representation of data to extract the data from the image.
Abstract: The present invention encompasses pet food compositions that include one or more probiotic microorganisms, which are useful to improve the health of companion animals. For example, the invention encompasses pet food compositions including a probiotic, for example, Lactobacillus, Bifidobacterium and Streptococcus (Enterococcus). The present invention also encompasses the preparation of pet food compositions including one or more probiotic microorganisms intended for methods of maintaining or improving pet health through feeding a pet a pet food composition including the probiotic microorganism.

Abstract: An oral care system comprising a toothbrush and a dispenser is disclosed. In one embodiment, the dispenser comprises a housing having a longitudinal axis and an internal reservoir containing an oral care material; a drive component rotatably disposed within the housing and comprising a drive screw, the drive component being axially retained relative to the housing through mechanical interference; and an elevator coupled to the drive screw so that rotation of the drive component in a first rotational direction causes the elevator to axially advance along the drive screw in a first axial direction to dispense the oral care material from a dispensing orifice.

Abstract: An oral care implement that includes a handle and a head. The head may include a support structure and a monolithic cleaning unit coupled thereto. The monolithic cleaning unit may include a base portion coupled to the support structure and a plurality of bristles extending therefrom. At least one, or each, of the plurality of bristles may comprise a body having an outer surface and a rib extending from the outer surface. The rib may be longitudinally elongated in some embodiments and it may be helical in other embodiments. Furthermore, there may be more than one rib extending from the outer surface of the body. The monolithic cleaning unit may be formed of an elastomeric material.
Abstract: Methods for preparing high loading core shell silica (CSS) particles, or CSS particles having a relatively greater amount of surface active silicate groups than CSS particles prepared according to conventional methods is provided. The method may include contacting silica particles with a base having a first metal ion to produce core shell silica particles. Each of the core shell silica particles may include a silica core and a silicate of the first metal ion etched on a surface of the silica core. The method may also include contacting each of the core shell silica particles having the silicate of the first metal ion with an acidic aqueous solution including a metal salt having a second metal ion to produce core shell silica particles including the silica core and a silicate of the second metal ion on the surface of the silica core.
Abstract: Described herein are whitening compositions comprising a substantially anhydrous or non-aqueous oral care composition comprising: a peroxide source comprising hydrogen peroxide bound to cross-linked polyvinylpyrrolidone (cPVP) in the amount effective to provide from 0.01% to 5.5% of hydrogen peroxide, by weight of the composition; a hydrophobic component comprising a silicone polymer; sodium tripolyphosphate; and optionally a dental surface adhesion enhancing agent. Methods of making and using these compositions are also described herein.
Abstract: Aluminum chlorohydrate salts having an amount of Peak 1 material relative based on a total of Peaks 3, 4, and 5 of at least 20% as measured by size exclusion chromatography, together with water treatment compositions, antiperspirant compositions, and oral care compositions, comprising the same, and methods for making and using the same.
Abstract: An oral care implement having a body having a handle, a head at an end of the handle, and at least one fluid outlet, the head having at least one oral care element extending therefrom; a reservoir in the body and for storing an oral care fluid; and a supply mechanism connected to the body, the supply mechanism having a user-operable selector comprising a cam, and an actuator comprising a follower in contact with the same, the actuator operable to cause the oral care fluid to flow from the reservoir towards the fluid outlet, and wherein the cam is movable relative to the body to cause movement of the follower relative to the body and thereby operate the actuator.
