Abstract: A safe method for bleaching teeth applies a thin film of a first bleaching composition having a high concentration of a bleaching agent to teeth to be bleached immediately followed by applying a second bleaching composition having a low concentration of a bleaching agent to teeth to be bleached.
Abstract: A tube or other container for storing and dispensing a product such as toothpaste, a lotion, a cream, etc., includes one or more recesses. Initially, each recess (30) is in a concave position relative to an exterior of the sealed tube. Due to outgassing or other factors, pressure within an interior of the sealed tube may increase. During the pressure increase, the one or more recesses (30) deflect from the initial concave position toward a convex position relative to the exterior of the tube, thereby effectively increasing a volume of the interior of the tube and maintaining pressure within the tube at a more desirable level.
Abstract: A skin cleansing composition comprising a salt of lauric acid; a salt of stearic acid; and at least one surfactant that is not a salt of a fatty acid; wherein the ratio of the salt of lauric acid to the salt of stearic acid, calculated as the ratio of lauric acid to stearic acid by weight, is from 2.5:1 to 3.5:1. Also provided are methods of using the compositions.
Abstract: The invention provides a personal care composition for application to the skin which comprises a personal care composition for application to the skin or hair comprising a zinc X halide and a cosmetically acceptable base, wherein X is an amino acid or trimethylglycine. Methods of making and using the compositions are also provided. The zinc X halide is can be used to deliver zinc salts to block perspiration and provide antibacterial effects.

Abstract: The invention encompasses combinations of bioactive glass composition and potassium salts that are useful in conjunction with delivery agent such as, for example, toothpastes, mouthwashes, and oral gels. In certain embodiments, the compositions of the invention form a rapid and continuous reaction with body fluids (e.g., saliva) to promote the immediate and long-tem release of Ca and P ions to produce a stable crystalline layer deposited onto and into the dentin tubules for the immediate and long term reduction of dentin hypersensitivity and tooth surface remineralization.
