Abstract: A method and apparatus for measuring instantaneous power resulting from a person pedaling a bicycle ergometer. The rotational speed of a rotary member is periodically detected over a brief period of time at time points corresponding to the start of increase and the end of increase of the rotational speed. From these speeds and time points, the instantaneous power is determined.
Abstract: A mechanism for attaching the protective bar (1) of a baby carriage to the armrest bars (2) thereof. The mechanism includes fitting juts (3) respectively provided in the armrest bars at opposite ends thereof and engaged in fitting holes (5) provided in the protective bar and engagement bolts (4) rotatably inserted into the bolt holes (11) of the armrest bars and into the bolt holes (61) of the juts so that the protective bar is detachably attached to the armrest bars. Each of the bolts has a head (41) at a butt end thereof and an engagement pin (43) at an opposite tip end of the bolt so that the longitudinal axis of the pin is substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the bolt. Each of the bolt holes (61) has peripheral openings at one end thereof so that the pin can be passed through the openings and each of the juts has projections (63) at the peripheral portion of the bolt hole (61) near the other end thereof so that the projections are engaged with the pin to hold the bolt.
Abstract: A folding baby bed has a vertically-long rectangular housing frame body portion which can be fixedly attached to a wall surface, a floor surface, or the like, at a back or bottom portion of the housing frame, and a bed portion provided at a front upper half portion of the housing frame body portion, the bed portion being pivotally attached to the housing frame body portion at opposite sides so that the bed portion can be horizontally extended and vertically folded so as to be housed in the housing frame body portion. The bed portion is constructed by upper and lower plates and a trim such that the trim is interposed between the upper and lower plates. When the bed portion is either in a vertically folded state or in a horizontally extended state, the state can be safely maintained by a supporting spring.

Abstract: An infant restraining chair for installation in a corner or other compact area of a bathroom, for restraining an infant while the infant's guardian makes use of bathroom facilities. A chair supporting and surrounding a substantial portion of an infant's body is mounted on top of a column having a cross-section of a generally triangular shape. Arcuate seat belt portions of substantially rigid construction are maintained in a body of the chair normally in a position retracted into the chair, but are selectably extendable out of the chair body to encircle and restrain an infant seated in the chair.
Abstract: An auxiliary chair for use in restraining young children in vehicles. The chair is capable of either frontward or backward orientation and in each case the portion thereof that engages the seat belt of the vehicle remains in the same relative position. The engagement portion is on an engagement arm that is movable between a frontward and a rearward position, and in each position locks both the chair body and the chair base thereto for security. The chair is tiltable to several orientations and is locked into several tilt positions via a shaft through the body that rides in a slot within locking plates in the base. The locking plate locks the position due to springs forcing the plates upward. The lock is easily released by handles on the sides of the base.
