  • Patent number: 11597242
Abstract: A radial tire (10), with the sidewalls thereof (20), and the tread thereof (30) arranged for minimizing the temperature of the tire while guaranteeing its electrical conductivity. The tread (30) comprises two wings (311, 312) and a central portion (32). These components rest on a base layer (33) radially on the inside of the tread (30). The base layer (33) contains a lateral portion (331, 332) partly in contact with a tread wing (311, 312). This structure of the crown of the tire, in contact with the carcass reinforcement makes it possible to constitute a preferential conductive pathway of the electric charges between the rim and the ground when the tire is mounted on its rim and flattened on the ground.

  • Patent number: 11597234
Abstract: An apparatus for assembling a non-pneumatic tire that includes a base and a plurality of elements that move relative to the base. The plurality of elements have a central axis, and the elements are disposed in a circumferential direction around the central axis and move in a radial direction towards and away from the central axis. A radial movement member, hub, and a plurality of spokes are also present. Each one of the spokes is disposed between adjacent ones of the elements. The elements and the spokes are moved inwards in the radial direction by the radial movement member towards the central axis so that the spokes are moved in the radial direction towards the hub. Adhesive engages the spokes and the hub at an attachment location of the spokes and the hub.

  • Publication number: 20230067289
Abstract: This disclosure provides methods for grinding biochar composition for use as a filler in elastomeric compositions. Such methods include providing a biochar composition comprising particulate, and grinding the biochar composition with a grinding fluid until the biochar is characterized as having an average particulate size less than substantially 1 micrometer. Optionally, such methods may include passivating the biochar composition during or after grinding by covering a sufficient portion of the surface pores sized 10 nanometer and smaller of the particulate forming the ground biochar composition. Curable elastomeric compositions including biochar and cured elastomeric products are also provided.

  • Patent number: 11590809
Abstract: Improving the endurance of the beads (1) of a radial tire for a civil-engineering heavy vehicle by proposing a solution which blocks the propagation of the cracks initiated in the coating elastomer of the bead reinforcing layer (5), by inserting a cushion rubber (6) interposed between the coating elastomer of the carcass layer turn-up (312) and the coating elastomer of the bead reinforcing layer (5). The elastic modulus in extension of the cushion rubber (6) measured at 100% deformation must be less than the elastic modulus of the coating compound of the carcass layer. Still according to a disclosed embodiment, the thickness of the cushion rubber (6) is at least equal to the thickness of the bead reinforcing layer (5).
