Abstract: A system and method of painting parts of large dimensions that present a certain amount of flexibility that makes their shape geometrically unstable in the event of being moved. The surface of a part is moved in front of a paint spray device by an arm of a robot, while the spray device remains stationary relative to the robot and while the part is being deformed. Other elements include a gripper for gripping parts of large dimensions, the gripper being adapted to implement the method; an installation; and a booth for performing surface treatment of parts.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method of fastening first and second thermoplastic parts of a motor vehicle, the first part having a protuberance projecting from a face and the second part having an engagement surface, the method consisting in bringing the second part into contact with the face of the first part, in heating the protuberance, and in plastically deforming the protuberance towards the second part so that the second part is gripped between the face of the first part and an end portion of the protuberance.
Abstract: The invention relates to an assembly comprising a rear impact beam and an impact absorber. The beam and the absorber have respective fastener means fastening them to a motor vehicle body-in-white. The absorber is shaped to absorb a corner impact and is designed to be arranged in the vicinity of a rear corner of the body-in-white in line with the longitudinal direction of the beam so as to leave a gap between a proximal end of the beam and the absorber.
Abstract: The invention relates in particular to a method of painting a motor vehicle bodywork part, the method comprising the steps consisting in applying a first component on the part, in allowing the first component to tension on said part during a so-called “flash-off” stage, then in applying a second component on the part, the part being moved by a handler robot in front of a stationary applicator during the two spraying steps and in front of flash-off acceleration means during the flash-off stage. The invention also provides a painting booth having at least one stationary applicator for applying a paint component on a part carried by an arm of a handler robot that is present in the booth, and means for accelerating the flash-off of the part, the means being arranged in the booth in such a manner that the part can enter into the field of action of the acceleration means while being carried by the same handler robot.
Abstract: A device for positioning a motor vehicle bodywork part, the bodywork part intended to be juxtaposed with a door of the vehicle, it being possible for the door to adopt an open position and a closed position on the vehicle. The positioning device includes elastic means capable of defining: a first position for the positioning device when the door is in the open position, and a second position for the positioning device when the door is in the closed position, during which the elastic means are deformed.
Abstract: A method for punching bodywork components, in particular a skin in order to install parking-assistance sensors or headlight washers therein. The invention also relates to a punching machine having an anvil for receiving the bodywork component, a punch, and movement means for moving the punch, initially over a first stroke in order to bring it into a utilization position, and then over a second stroke in order to pierce said component. The movement of the punch over the second stroke takes place at a travel speed not exceeding 10 mm/s and less than the travel speed of the punch over the first stroke. The means for moving the punch over the second stroke comprise a punching actuator coupled to a force-multiplication mechanism. Finally, the invention relates to the use of a machine and to a bodywork component obtained by performing the method.
Abstract: A method of assembling a part for a motor vehicle is shown. The method comprises the steps of providing at least one of the parts with a first adhesive for bonding with the other part, the first adhesive being activated under the effect of a first predetermined condition, providing at least one of the parts with a second adhesive for bonding with the other part, the second adhesive being different from the first adhesive and suitable for activating under the effect of a second predetermined condition different from the first predetermined condition. The parts are then assembled together by the first adhesive by exposing the parts to the first predetermined condition in such a manner as to define a mutual relative position of the parts in the assembled part, and in the absence of the second predetermined condition, and the assembled-together parts are exposed to the second predetermined condition.
