  • Publication number: 20010026079
Abstract: The vehicle having a chassis extending towards the front end of the vehicle where it has an impact zone and a cabin for the transport of passengers. The vehicle embodies a mechanical device for raising at least the front of the cabin relative to the chassis while the cabin moves forwards relative to the chassis in the event of an impact, the mechanical device including at least one rocker articulated to the chassis on the one hand, and articulated to the cabin on the other hand.

  • Patent number: 6257604
Abstract: A suspension assembly of a motor vehicle which assemble includes a wheel carrier and a guide member to guide the wheel carrier in relative translation. The wheel carrier is mounted on the guide member by means of a bar sliding in the guide member guided by rollers turning on roller ways arranged on the bar. The assembly includes a spiral spring acting between the bar of the wheel carrier and a guide member of an electromechanical machine that is operated to control the suspension deflection movements.

  • Patent number: 6224808
Abstract: A toroidal core is produced on a rim 1 comprising a central portion connecting two annular lateral anchoring zones. The rim has an air passage orifice which can be selectively closed or opened and connected to a source of pressure, to the atmosphere or to vacuum. A conduit 3 passes through the rim and has a valve 30 which can be selectively closed or opened, the conduit extending to an orifice to which a pipeline can be connected by a suitable flange 13. A stretchable membrane 2 is mounted on the radially outer side of the rim and is fastened to it in air-tight manner on anchoring zones over the entire periphery of said rim so as to define a closed space on the radially outer side of said rim between the rim and the membrane. A fluid 6 fills said closed space to overflowing, said membrane being pressed against a mold 5.

  • Patent number: 6170838
Abstract: The vehicle includes a suspended running chassis (1) making it possible to define a longitudinal and vertical plane forming a reference on the chassis (1), the preferred running direction being parallel to the longitudinal plane, and at least two wheel connecting systems, the wheels (2) of which are not aligned relative to the longitudinal plane, the wheel connecting systems being mounted on the chassis (1) on either side of the latter in the transverse direction, each of the wheel connecting systems including a wheel (2) mounted on a support (5) by means of a suspension device allowing vertical deflection of the wheel (2) relative to the support (5), the suspensions being independent of one another. Each support (5) is mounted on the chassis (1) by means of a camber mechanism which includes a camber lever (4) and an actuating lever (40) making it possible to vary the camber angle of the corresponding wheel (2).

  • Patent number: 6161844
Abstract: The suspension device controls the range of movement between a suspended point connected to the body 3 of a vehicle and a non-suspended point connected to a wheel 2 which includes an elastic link 1 mounted between said suspended and non-suspended points, the elastic link being essentially composed of a spring of stiffness K and predetermined length under a reference load and a reversible electric jack 5 acting parallel to the spring 4 in order to control the movements between said suspended and non-suspended points.

  • Patent number: 6113119
Abstract: A wheel connecting assembly for an automobile which includes a wheel carrier and a support having a guide member for guiding the wheel carrier in translational movement relative to the support. The support has journals for mounting the support on the chassis of a vehicle. The wheel carrier is mounted on the guide member by means of a bar sliding in the guide member. The assembly includes a spring and an electromechanical device capable of being operated in order to control the deflecting movements of the suspension.

  • Patent number: 6058757
Abstract: The method and device for machining a sheet and controlling the thickness between the opposite faces of said sheet in a press between sheet engaging surfaces, at least one of which is a bearing surface of narrow width extending across the width of the sheet, in which the space between them is controlled to modify the thickness of the sheet in a series of successive steps which include moving the sheet relative to the sheet engaging surfaces, stopping the movement of the sheet and moving the sheet engaging surfaces against the sheet to compress the sheet to a predetermined thickness and controlling the stepped movement of the sheet and the movement of the sheet engaging surfaces in alternate and successive sequences.
