    Abstract: An access device for surgical procedures includes a multiport end cap having a rigid body with a flexible support sealingly mounted to the rigid body with a plurality of separate access ports for accommodating introduction of individual surgical instruments into a body of a patient. At least one of the access ports is sealingly attached to the flexible support and extends in a proximal direction therefrom. The flexible support is of a material more flexible than those of the rigid body and access ports to provide for relative angular movement of at least one of the access ports to provide flexibility for positioning surgical instruments introduced through the access ports. The flexible support can include at least one flexible bellow.

The construct additionally includes a first loop in the filament between a first adjacent pair of the plurality of passing locations and a second loop in the filament between a second adjacent pair of the plurality of passing locations. In a pre-deployment configuration, the second loop extends through the first loop.

    Abstract: An argon beam coagulation probe for a robotic surgery system having a body with an argon gas entry port and an argon gas exit port and a pedestal interconnected to the underside of body that includes a pair of opposing arcuate channels that positioned equidistantly about the body. As a result, the argon gas jet exit port will be aligned equidistantly between the two fingers of a robotic arm and the body will be aligned in the same direction as the yaw axis of the robotic arm, so that argon gas will be expelled in the same direction that the fingers are pointing. A surgeon manipulating the robotic arms from the master control can thus easily align the probe based on the positioning of the robotic fingers and will still have the entire range of pitch, yaw, and roll movement of the robotic system.

The rotating trigger reduces the gripping force necessary to fully control the internal actuator mechanism to operate a disposable surgical clip applier to fully ligate a vessel or other tissue. The hermetic seal on the handle assembly prevents any patient fluids and other bioburden from entering the internal structures. This reduces the possibility of cross-contamination and the costs of sterilization.

    Abstract: An articulating suture hook for passing or retrieving suture. The suture hook having a handle with a proximal end and distal end. A stiffening tube is fixed to the distal end of the handle extending distally from the handle. A flexible outer tube is fixed to the stiffening tube and extends distally therefrom. A cut portion of the flexible outer tube has a plurality of cuts positioned therealong. In a first configuration, the flexible outer tube extends parallel to or in alignment with the stiffening tube, but in a second configuration, the flexible outer tube is curved at the cut portion. The plurality of cuts may be arranged into two patterns. Each cut arranged in a first pattern is offset at an angle from each cut arranged in a second pattern. The pattern, shape, and size of the cuts determines the movement of the flexible outer tube to the second configuration.
