Abstract: A method and system for improving real-time false positive reduction, in which first and second sensor data of a potential object in a common portion of an environment of a motor vehicle are compared. Upon determining that there is a discrepancy in the first and second sensor data in relation to the object, an analysis by synthesis is performed on the first sensor data. If the analysis results in a match, then the first sensor data are validated and can be used for generating a control signal for an autonomous vehicle. If the analysis results in a mismatch, the first sensor data are excluded from generating the control signal. In case of no discrepancy between the first and second sensor data, both are used in generating the control signal.
Abstract: A grooved roller having a multiplicity of guide grooves running parallel to one another and in encircling fashion over the circumference of said grooved roller and serve for guiding strength members of flattened cross section before they enter a roller calender, which strength members have, in cross section, a first diameter and, perpendicular thereto, a second diameter, the second diameter is smaller than the first diameter, and the two diameters are each determined at the points with the greatest widths. The guide grooves each have a U-shaped cross section with a groove base extending parallel to the roller axis and with two groove walls extending perpendicularly to the roller axis. The groove base has a width which at least corresponds to, and is up to 5% greater than, the first diameter of the strength member, and the groove walls have a height which is 50% to 90% of the second diameter of the strength member.

Abstract: A method for classifying the height of an object by at least one vehicle ultrasonic sensor is disclosed. A computer receives at least two ultrasonic signals, calculates a first item of height information based on two items of spacing information relating to at least one vehicle ultrasonic sensor and the object, and calculates a variance of the first item of information. The computer similarly calculates a second item of height information and a variance thereof from a received further ultrasonic signal. The computer combines the items of height information as an average thereof, and the calculated variances of items of height information as an averaged variance thereof. The object is classified in a height class by calculating a probability value based on a distribution function which has as a mean value the averaged item of height information and as a variance the averaged variance of the height information.

Abstract: A method for Service Relaying in a Relay User Equipment (UE) and such Relay UE is provided. The method includes the following steps. A connection between a Relay UE and a UE is established. A Service Catalogue of a Remote Service Provider is received. The Remote Service Provider is arranged for providing services to a UE. The Service Catalogue comprises information about these services. Meta-data is generated which comprises additional information about the services for the UE. Information about the Service Catalogue and about the meta-data is provided to the UE. The UE selects one of the services based on the provided information and the Relay UE relays the selected service from the Remote Service Provider to the UE.
Abstract: A method and system for creating a virtual lane for a vehicle comprises receiving real-time values of vehicle dynamics parameters and location of one or more objects and transforming the received information into a world coordinate system. Further, the method comprises generating a bird's-eye view of the vehicle and creating and rendering a virtual lane corresponding to the vehicle on the bird's-eye view. Thereafter, the method comprises detecting if at least one of the one or more objects is in the virtual lane of the vehicle, and generating an alert when the at least one of the one or more objects are in the virtual lane. Thus, the present disclosure helps the vehicle avoid collisions with other objects/vehicles by dynamically altering the path when the other objects/vehicles are detected in the virtual lane of the vehicle.
Abstract: A processing unit for an audio system of a vehicle comprises a first processing node, a second processing node and a program memory. The program memory may be overwritten by the first processing node and by the second processing node. After the processing unit has started up the first processing node may compute and write to the program memory an audio output. The processing unit may also perform a handover of the computing of the audio output from the first processing node to the second processing node when the first processing node has overwritten the program memory up to a predefined point and when the second processing node is operational. The second processing node is designed to compute the audio output after the handover, and to write this audio output to the program memory.

Abstract: A method and device for warning a following vehicle on a defined roadway section about an obstacle. Ego trajectories of ego vehicles moving on the roadway section are captured in a first time interval and a first swarm trajectory is formed therefrom and stored with a first time stamp. A second swarm trajectory is formed from ego trajectories of ego vehicles moving on the roadway section in a second time interval, the second time interval being offset in time from the first time interval. The second swarm trajectory is stored with a second time stamp. A difference between the first and second trajectories and an associated difference magnitude are formed. If this difference magnitude is greater than a predetermined threshold, an obstacle is recognized as being present on the roadway section and a warning signal is output to a following vehicle.
