Abstract: Methods of making hose fittings include providing a stem having a fluid conduit, a first end, a second end with a raised shoulder, and a threaded region disposed between the first end and the second end. Further, the stem may include barbs for sealingly engaging an inner diameter of a hose. A swivel tube nut is then placed over the stem, and the swivel tube nut is retained on the stem the by the raised shoulder. A ferrule is thereafter placed over the first end of the stem, and the ferrule comprises a partially formed hexagonal wrench surface, formed prior to. The ferrule also includes female threads corresponding to male threads on the stem. The ferrule is screwed onto the stem and secured thereon via the hexagonal wrench surface.

  • Publication number: 20180292030
Abstract: A hose includes an inner tube defining a central longitudinal axis there through, and is formed of a vulcanized rubber and a plurality of rod shaped particles orientated substantially parallel with the central longitudinal axis, along with other typical materials. The inner tube has a tube wall thickness (t) of between about 0.5 mm to about 1.5 mm, and the plurality of rod shaped particles is incorporated in an amount of 10% or less by weight. The hose further includes a tie layer directly surrounding the inner tube, a first reinforcement layer surrounding the tie layer, and at least a second reinforcement layer surrounding the first reinforcement layer. An interlayer is interposed between the first and the second reinforcement layer, and the interlayer bonds the first reinforcement layer to the second reinforcement layer. An outside cover surrounds the second reinforcement layer, as well as any additional layers.

  • Publication number: 20180292035
Abstract: Methods of making hose fittings include providing a stem having a fluid conduit, a first end, a second end with a raised shoulder, and a crimp region disposed between the first end and the second end. A swivel tube nut is placed over the stem, and the swivel tube nut is retained on the stem the by the raised shoulder. A ferrule is thereafter placed over the first end of the stem, and the ferrule comprises a partially formed hexagonal wrench surface, formed prior to. The ferrule is then crimped, at the hexagonal wrench surface, onto the crimp region of the stem.

  • Publication number: 20180266601
Abstract: An assembly includes a hose having at least a first bead ring disposed proximate a distal end of the hose, and a tapered fitting defining an axial centerline and distal end of the assembly. The tapered fitting further defines a first outer diameter relative the axial centerline, and a second outer diameter relative the axial centerline. The first outer diameter is greater than the second outer diameter, and the second outer diameter is disposed nearer the distal end. The tapered fitting further defines a hollow channel therethrough which is disposed around the axial centerline. The first bead ring is disposed adjacent the second outer diameter of the tapered fitting and remote from the first outer diameter of the tapered fitting. The large bore hose is sealingly secured upon the tapered fitting by interference fit.

  • Patent number: 10066766
Abstract: A hose includes an inner tube containing an alloy of NBR/PVC mixed with ECO, and the inner tube has a tube wall thickness of from 2 mm to 4 mm. A first reinforcement layer surrounds the inner tube, and includes a first yarn layer spiral wound over the inner tube in a first winding direction, as well as a second yarn layer spiral wound over the first yarn layer in a second winding direction opposite the first winding direction. A friction layer is disposed over the first reinforcement layer. A second reinforcement layer surrounds the friction layer, and includes a third yarn layer spiral wound over the friction layer in a third winding direction, and a fourth yarn layer spiral wound over the third yarn layer in a fourth winding direction opposite the third winding direction. A cover layer is disposed over the second reinforcement layer.

  • Publication number: 20180231167
Abstract: Apparatus include a fitting defining a distal end and conduit, where the fitting has a port inward from the distal end and which extends from the conduit to an outer surface of the fitting. A hose is sealingly connected with the fitting at the distal end, and a temperature measuring device is sealingly secured with the fitting through the port. In some cases, the temperature measuring device and fitting are sealingly secured with mating threaded structures. The temperature measuring device may incorporate RFID technology. Also, the fitting may have a flat region on the peripheral to secure the device. The temperature measuring device may include a temperature measurement component a distal end which is in contact with material resident in the conduit. The temperature measuring device may also have a display and a push button for activating the display, whereby temperature of material resident in the conduit is shown.
