Abstract: Provided is a cable connected between a first electronic device and a second electronic device. A determination unit determines whether or not the first electronic device is a compatible electronic device. A control unit performs control to operate in a compatible mode when the first electronic device is a compatible electronic device and operate in a non-compatible mode when the first electronic device is not a compatible electronic device on the basis of the determination result by the determination unit. Furthermore, an electronic device is connected to an external device via the cable. The determination unit determines whether or not the cable is a compatible cable. The control unit performs control to operate in the compatible mode when the cable is a compatible cable and operate in the non-compatible mode when the cable is not a compatible cable on the basis of the determination result by the determination unit.
Abstract: This invention relates to processes for forming hydrogen mediated saline hydride initiated anionic polymer distributions via novel polymerization conditions in which molecular hydrogen is a chain transfer agent and a Lithium Aminoalkoxide Complexed Saline Hydride (LOXSH) forms an anionic polymer chain initiating species by addition of saline hydride to an anionically polymerizable hydrocarbon monomer. This invention further relates to polystyrene compositions having greatly improved microstructures free of co-product polymer chain distributions. This invention also relates to novel hydrocarbon soluble saline hydride catalyst and reagent compositions useful in conducting the hydrogen mediated saline hydride initiated polymerizations of this invention. Abstract: There are provided an ultrasound diagnostic apparatus and an operation method of an ultrasound diagnostic apparatus capable of performing polarization processing during the execution period of ultrasound diagnosis without affecting the image quality of an ultrasound image. In the ultrasound diagnostic apparatus and the operation method of the ultrasound diagnostic apparatus of the invention, a trigger generation circuit generates a trigger for starting polarization processing. After a trigger is given, during the execution period of ultrasound diagnosis, in a non-diagnosis period which is a period other than a period for acquiring an image of each frame and during which transmission of ultrasound waves and reception of reflected waves for performing ultrasound diagnosis are not performed, within each frame time in which an image of each frame of an ultrasound image is acquired, a control circuit performs polarization processing on a plurality of ultrasound transducers.
Abstract: Computer technology for use when one or more devices is receiving low resolution video typically due to low internet bandwidth. Multiple devices are chosen for a cluster, with the devices of the cluster being in device to device communication (see definition of “device to device communication” herein). One, or more, of the devices in the cluster is set up to do GAN image enhancement locally for the cluster, and the low resolution video stream is sent to the GAN enhancement device(s) and then enhanced to be sent to other device(s) in the cluster as a higher resolution, clearer video image by device to device communication.

Abstract: Described are techniques for scheduling tasks on a heterogeneous system on a chip (SoC). The techniques including receiving a directed acyclic graph at a meta pre-processor associated with a heterogeneous system-on-chip and communicatively coupled to a scheduler, where the directed acyclic graph corresponds to a control flow graph of respective tasks associated with an application executed by the heterogeneous system-on-chip. The techniques further including determining, using a learning agent implementing machine learning algorithms, a rank for a respective task in the directed acyclic graph, wherein the learning agent receives as input the directed acyclic graph, constraints associated with the directed acyclic graph, and heuristics regarding previously completed tasks. The techniques further including providing the respective task to the scheduler for execution on the heterogeneous system-on-chip according to the rank.

Abstract: A vehicle with an emergency reporting function includes a processor, a vehicle communication device, a first calling device, and a vehicle outside occupant detector. The processor determines, by means of the vehicle outside occupant detector, whether an occupant who has been present inside the vehicle before an emergency is present inside the vehicle or outside the vehicle after the emergency. If the occupant is present inside the vehicle after the emergency, the processor uses the first calling device to enable a communication between an occupant inside the vehicle and an operator terminal. If the occupant is present outside the vehicle after the emergency, the processor additionally uses a second calling device to enable a communication between an occupant present outside or inside the vehicle and the operator terminal. The second calling device allows for a communication outside the vehicle.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention are directed to fabrication methods and resulting structures that provide metal gate N/P boundary control in an integrated circuit (IC) using an active gate cut and recess processing scheme. In a non-limiting embodiment of the invention, a gate cut is formed in an N/P boundary between an n-type field effect transistor (FET) and a p-type FET. A first portion of a first work function metal is removed over a channel region of the n-type FET. The gate cut prevents etching a second portion of the first work function metal. The first portion of the first work function metal is replaced with a second work function metal. The gate cut is recessed, and a conductive region is formed on the recessed surface of the gate cut. The conductive region provides electrical continuity across the N/P boundary.

Abstract: An antenna device and an orientation adjustment mechanism are provided. The orientation adjustment mechanism includes a holder, a rotation carrier assembled to the holder, and a torsion spring. The rotation carrier is counterclockwise rotatable from an initial position by a first predetermined angle or is clockwise rotatable from the initial position by a second predetermined angle. The torsion spring has an elastic portion disposed on the holder and two extending arms that extend from the elastic portion. When the rotation carrier is rotated from the initial position by the first predetermined angle or the second predetermined angle, the rotation carrier presses and moves one of the two extending arms, and another one of the two extending arms abuts against the limiting portion, so that the elastic portion is deformed to store an elastic force that tends to move the rotation carrier toward the initial position.

Abstract: A detection device monitors a communication event including communication by humans when a legitimate user accesses sensitive data for each legitimate user. The detection device builds a profile of the user indicating normal behavior when the user accesses the sensitive data by performing machine learning on a result of the monitoring. After that, the detection device acquires a communication event when a user to be authenticated accesses sensitive data. The detection device determines whether behavior of the user to be authenticated indicated in the acquired communication event corresponds to normal behavior when the user accesses the sensitive data indicated in a profile of the user, and outputs a result of the determination.
