    Abstract: The present invention provides a process for preparing polyaniline salt using an organic acid by polymerizing an aromatic amine in presence of a mixture of aqueous and an organic solvent using an anionic surfactant and a radical initiator at a temperature in the range of 5 to 55° C. for a period ranging from 4 to 24 hours and separating it to obtain polyaniline salt in both solution and solid forms, which are soluble in organic solvents and a mixture of solvents.
