Abstract: An embroidery project accessory carrying case for conveniently transporting the materials for at least one embroidery or other needlework project. The carrying case has a flexible backing sheet with storage pockets at each end. One end of the backing sheet includes a main pocket and a secondary pocket with a single flap to close both pockets, these pockets being adapted to receive the tools and bulky items of needlework materials. The other end of the backing sheet includes a large pocket and a shallow pocket. The large pocket is adapted to receive pattern books and the like while the shallow pocket receives a supply of thread. Fastening devices are attached to the carrying case such that the backing sheet can be folded twice--into thirds--and fastening devices will hold the case in this condition; and, the backing sheet can be folded once--into half--and the fastening devices will hold the case in this condition. The case can be bent backwards or laid flat for access to the materials.
Abstract: An easel hinge for supporting picture frames and the like comprising an outer hinge plate and an inner hinge plate, both having curled barrels, the inner barrel being positioned within the outer barrel for relative rotational movement therewith without the use of a separate hinge pin. At least one opening is provided in the outer barrel and a tang is provided projecting upwardly from the inner barrel and extending into said outer barrel opening. The full arcuate separation between the plates causes the tang to engage a lower edge of the opening in the outer plate to limit the degree of angular separation between the plates.
Abstract: A camera is disclosed for mounting adjacent an instrument such as a cathode ray tube device for recording an image from the display screen thereof. The camera includes an enclosure with a first opening for cooperation with the display screen of the instrument and a second, large opening across which a standard film cassette is mounted. The film cassette is held in place by a lower stationary holder and an upper attaching device which includes a movable latch. The latch is manually movable between a latched and unlatched position. It is automatically held in the unlatched position after manual movement thereinto, and it automatically moves into the latched position when a film cassette is brought into cooperating engagement with the large camera opening. The camera enclosure includes a floating inner frame having a surface which engages with the inside of the film cassette and which contributes to the positioning of the film cassette.
Abstract: A thread storage apparatus is disclosed. The apparatus includes a plurality of storage cards having holes along one edge for receiving loops of thread, and holes along the opposite edge for holding the cards in an expandable binder. The loops of yarn extend into a pocket to secure the free ends of the loops of thread, and the pocket is foldable over the back panel of the binder. Top and bottom end flaps may be provided to close the ends of the binder, and a front panel is provided as a front closure. An index card may be provided to assist in locating threads, and a use card may be provided for separating thread required for one project.
Abstract: The specification discloses a removable paint can accessory for mounting on the rim of a paint can. An annular ring is dimensioned to cover the rim channel of a conventional paint can. A pouring spout integral with the ring extends radially therefrom. The spout includes a substantially planar surface capable of supporting a paintbrush. A leveraging means depending from the pouring spout permits force to be applied along the ring to remove the accessory from the can.
Abstract: A powerhead mounting bracket is connected to a diver's breathing tank support. A cord connected to the receiver has a plug with a projection for loosely fitting in an axial bore of the powerhead. The plug is placed in the axial bore and the powerhead shaft is placed between the flanges on the receiver. The sling at the other end of the powerhead is stretched, forcing the powerhead tight against the plug, and the stretched spring is hooked into slots in the receiver. The stretched sling holds the shaft of the powerhead against the base of the receiver and holds the powerhead longitudinally against the plug. When required for use, the powerhead shaft is grasped near the firing end and is pushed in a direction towards the sling, further stretching the sling. When the plug drops out of the axial bore, the shaft is pulled outward from the receiver, allowing the sling to become untensioned, whereupon the sling drops out of the slot in the receiver.
Abstract: A 30-30 casing has sharpened rings formed in its enlarged base. Powder is packed in the casing, and it is sealed by inserting a primer portion, which is a 38 caliber pistol shell with a primer, in the open end of the packed casing and compressing the edge of the casing in the base area of the primer portion.Radial extensions on the casing hold the cartridge centered in a barrel spaced from a firing pin.The primer is ignited by hitting the sharpened rings against an underwater object and thus driving the cartridge and primer rearward against a fixed firing pin. The casing rockets forward out of the barrel, leaving the primer piece and smashing into the underwater object while the powder burns.
Abstract: An easel hinge for supporting picture frames and the like comprising an outer hinge plate and an inner hinge plate, both having curled barrels, the inner barrel being positioned within the outer barrel for relative rotational movement therewith without the use of a separate hinge pin. The outer barrel is constructed with relativey open and relatively closed portions, the relatively closed portions adapted to pass through an opening or openings provided in the inner plate so as to more completely encompass at least portions of the inner curl within the outer curl so as to produce a stronger hinge, i.e. one which is extremely difficult to be forced open beyond its predetermined limit.
Abstract: An easel hinge for supporting picture frames and the like comprising an outer hinge plate and an inner hinge plate both having curled barrels, the inner barrel being positioned within the outer barrel for relative rotational movement therewith without the use of a separate hinge pin, such movement limited by stop means provided by the longitudinal free edge of the outer curl and means for preventing the relative longitudinal movement of said hinge plates comprising an inner barrel tab positioned within an outer barrel slot.
