  • Patent number: 10121473
Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus and method for determining which controllable device an audible command is directed towards, the method comprising: receiving at each of two or more controlling devices the audible command signal, the audible command being directed to control at least one of two or more controllable devices controlled by a respective one of the two or more controlling devices; digitizing each of the received audible command signals; attaching a unique identifier to each digitized audible command so as to uniquely correlate it to a respective controlling device; determining a magnitude of each of the digitized audible command; determining a digitized audible command with the greatest magnitude, and further determining to which controlling device the audible command is directed to on the basis of the unique identifier associated with the digitized audible command with the greatest magnitude; performing speech recognition on the digitized audible command with the greatest magnitude; and forwarding a com

  • Publication number: 20180288424
Abstract: Presented are a system and method for distributing video over a network. The system includes a source that outputs video with a first frame rate, a transmitter, a receiver, and a sink. The transmitter receives video from the source and processes the video by encoding the video with frame boundary information, packetizing, and transmitting the video. The receiver includes a frame buffer, a timing generator, and a PLL. The receiver receives and processes the video by retrieving the frame boundary information, decoding the video into sub-frames, and writing the sub-frames to the buffer. All the processing occurs on sub-frame portions of the video in sub-frame time intervals. The receiver transmits video with a second frame rate to the sink. The timing generator generates output timing and uses the PLL to synchronize the output timing with the frame boundary information and synchronizes the first and second frame rates.

  • Publication number: 20180263399
Abstract: A method for controlling a drapery assembly is disclosed that opens and close a drape based on low and high touch sensitivity signature values that are established manually by the user. The method comprises pressing at least one button to initiate setting low touch sensitivity value; detecting a first manual movement of the drape; determining a first number of ticks using an encoder associated with the first manual movement; determining a low end user sensitivity signature value by calculating the average first number of ticks of the encoder; pressing at least one another button to initiate setting high touch sensitivity value; detecting a second manual movement of the drape; determining a second number of ticks using the encoder associated with the second manual movement; and determining a high end user sensitivity signature value by calculating the average first number of ticks of the encoder over the first time period.

  • Patent number: 10080273
Abstract: A dimmer circuit for detecting a connected load type comprising a controller, a plurality of dimming transistors adapted to provide a dimmed hot output signal to a load, and a current sensor adapted to sense current levels of the dimmed hot output signal. The controller is adapted to store at least one load type current parameter associated with a dimming mode. The controller is further adapted to generate an asymmetric forward phase transistor drive signal with half cycles of one polarity having incrementally increasing dimming levels to drive the plurality of dimming transistors. The controller receives current levels from the current sensor and determines whether at least one of the received current levels satisfies at least one stored current parameter. When at least one current level satisfies at least one current parameter, the controller sets the dimmer to operate in a dimming mode associated with the satisfied current parameter.

Abstract: A keypad capable of being configured with multiple button configurations with buttons of various heights is configured to recognize the button configuration through actuations of the buttons. The keypad is placed in a configuration mode by inputting an unresolvable condition to the keypad. Once in the configuration mode, the buttons are individually actuated in a predefined order to configure the size and function of each button.

  • Patent number: 10070505
Abstract: A scalable building control system comprising a plurality of network bridges and plurality of zone control systems each comprising one or more zone control devices and a load controller. Each zone control device is adapted to generate and transmit load control messages over a zone wireless network. The a load controller is adapted to receive the load control messages over the zone wireless network and control an electrically connected load device in response to the load control messages. Each of the plurality of network bridges is adapted to removably couple to at least one load controller of a zone wireless network to connect the zone control system as a node of a centralized wireless network. The network bridge is further adapted to transmit messages between the centralized wireless network and a connected load controller.
