Abstract: A universal fit fuel tank includes two forward adjustment channels and one rear adjustment channel. The adjustment channels are formed by attaching a retainer plate over indentations in a tunnel, the tunnel extending longitudinally through the fuel tank. Each retainer plate has an adjustment slot located over each indentation in the tunnel. A bracket is movably attached at each adjustment channel for attaching the fuel tank to a frame. Each bracket is attached to the fuel tank by passing a bolt through a hole in the bracket, through the adjustment slot, and into the adjustment channel, where the bolt threadingly engages a nut.

Abstract: A six speed gear assembly is having a mainshaft, countershaft, mainshaft 1st-6th gears, countershaft 1st-6th gears, and 4th/6th gear shift member. A shifting assembly with a shifter cam having uniformly distributed and uniformly shaped detents that are engaged by the shift cam follower. The six speed gear assembly has modes of operation corresponding to six speeds (1st through 6th) and a neutral position. The sixth speed is an overdrive speed (the output from the transmission turns faster than the input to the transmission), while the first through fifth speeds correspond to conventional gear ratios.The six speed gear assembly and the shifting assembly fit within the transmission case of a Big Twin five speed transmission without the need to modify the transmission case. This allows the conversion of a Big Twin five speed transmission into a six speed transmission without removal or replacement of the transmission case and by replacing a minimal number of components.

Abstract: A combination kickstand mechanism and transmission forward control unit for use with motorcycles. A support body is formed with an internal chamber which fits a lock cylinder that is formed with a slot. A kickstand is provided with a foot portion for contacting the ground or other surface and a head portion which projects into the lock cylinder slot. With the kickstand foot portion tilted to a raised position for contacting the ground or other surface, the detent on the head portion releasably engages a locking cavity in a lock sleeve which is mounted within the support body. A return spring is provided for yieldably urging the kickstand toward a lowered position at which the head portion pivots within the slot for withdrawing the detent from the lock sleeve. A locking recess is formed within the support body, and the detent releasably engages the locking recess when the footrest is moved to a closed position alongside the motorcycle frame.

Abstract: A motorcycle forward control for rear brakes. A housing internally carries a brake cylinder unit comprising a cylindrical chamber in which a plunger is operated through a linkage from a brake pedal. Pressurized brake fluid is directed from the cylinder through an internal channel in the housing along a path which exits through the rear of the housing and into a brake line leading to the rear brakes. The operating linkage includes a clevis-shaped lever which applies thrust forces evenly along the thrust axis of the plunger. A footrest is mounted on the housing with the provision being made for adjusting both vertical and laterally tilt positions of the footrest for rider comfort.

Abstract: A tank oil drain device comprises a drain receptacle associated with the tank, the receptacle defining a bore having a mouth opening to the tank exterior, the receptacle having a first port communicating between the tank interior and the bore; a plunger received in the bore, and a spring urging the plunger toward a position in the bore in which the first port is blocked; a seal normally sealing off between the bore and the side of the plunger at a location between the first port and the mouth; and lock structure carried by the receptacle, near the mouth, for retaining a tubular drain plug pushed into the bore for displacing the plunger in the bore sufficiently to unblock the first port thereby establishing oil draining communication via the first port and the plug to the exterior. The first port remains blocked by the plunger while the seal engages and seals off about the drain plug through a predetermined range of movement of the drain plug in the bore.
