Publication number: 20080032801Abstract: A service-oriented bus for distributed gaming systems allowing gaming machines, servers, workstations, mobile PCs, handheld devices and automatic telling machines to talk together over a network. The game service bus provides a publish-and-subscribe message bus over a private network within a gaming property and/or over the public Internet across several properties. The service bus framework allows participating communicating end points to publish services or subscribe to services in a simple and standardized high level fashion, thereby enabling the devices to understand one-another, thus “talk” together. The “talking together” paradigm is rather appropriate, as it emphasizes the value that the service bus brings to a complex distributed casino gaming system that may include thousands of devices manufactured by dozens of vendors. Gaming machines may talk together in a peer-fashion over the service bus, which is well suited for multiplayer gaming.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 21, 2007Publication date: February 7, 2008Applicant: CYBERVIEW TECHNOLOGY, INC.Inventor: Thierry Brunet de Courssou

Publication number: 20080004121Abstract: A universal method and computer system for downloading game software to legacy gaming machines. A gaming machine includes a locked enclosure; a first computing device disposed within the locked enclosure, the first computing device being programmed to enable game play of the gaming machine; a second computing device disposed within the locked enclosure of the gaming machine, the second computing device being configured for network access, and an interface between the first and the second computing devices. The second computing device is configured to receive game software components over the network that are compatible with (e.g., executable by) the first computing device but not compatible with (e.g., not executable by) the second computing device and to transfer the received game software components to the first computing device over the interface. The second computing device may include, for example, a PC.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 12, 2007Publication date: January 3, 2008Applicant: CYBERVIEW TECHNOLOGY, INC.Inventors: Jean-Marie Gatto, Thierry Brunet de Courssou

Publication number: 20070218981Abstract: Methods for reducing reliance on the need to use a physical payment instrument in substitution for cash for wagering on gaming terminals. According to embodiments of the present invention, a player may use a secure cashless payment instrument that does not require presentation of the payment instrument through an automatic reader fitted to a gaming terminal. The cashless payment instrument may feature a third-party security code. The method may advantageously be used in small remote gaming facilities such as in island holiday resorts, in cruise ships and on-board international flights, for example.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 23, 2007Publication date: September 20, 2007Applicant: CYBERVIEW TECHNOLOGY, INC.Inventor: Thierry Brunet De Courssou

Publication number: 20070191108Abstract: A method for agile downloading and controlling regulated games in a distributed gaming system, the games being selected from a large library of certified games. A preferred embodiment of the method is a plug-in for the ubiquitous personal media player whereby the regulated games distributed on CD-ROM are catalogued in the media library through a “rip-like” operation and are downloaded to the gaming machines through a “sync-like” operation much like for downloading music, photos and movies to an iPod®. Preventing execution of non authorized games is enforced in the gaming machine through software restriction policy (SRP) much like digital right media (DRM) prevents listening or viewing illegal media files. Other media content such as promotional photos, videos and audio may be downloaded and controlled through the same casino media player.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 19, 2007Publication date: August 16, 2007Applicant: CYBERVIEW TECHNOLOGY, INC.Inventors: Thierry Brunet De Courssou, Cameron Filipour
